Volunteer for High School Preview Days at UIC!

•IBE is looking for 2-3 volunteers for the next tours• Saturday, October 29, 2011• Saturday, November 12, 2011

• How will you be helping?• Assist with a 10-20 minute slideshow presentation about BIOE

department and our bioengineering major.• Show high schoolers a couple research labs.• Answer questions the high schoolers may have!

Free Scheck and Siress Prosthetic Lab Tours

• What: 1.5 hour lecture-tour of the Sheck and Siress Prothetic Lab at the UIC Hospital (http://www.scheckandsiress.com)

• Who: Free for any BOA member!• When:• Tuesday, October 11th at 10:30am• Friday October 28th at 1pm • Monday November 7th at 1pm

Stem Cell Society

• Status: First “committee” meeting to brainstorm logistics soon• Goals:

• To compile the latest stem cell research and applications from various outlets to discuss, analyze, and learn with other members.

• To provide a setting where various UIC stem cell research labs can discuss their latest research and explore collaborative possibilities with each other.

• Operation:• Bi- or tri-weekly meetings• Members compile material they’ve discovered and outline main talking

points, things of interest, and background information.• Research labs present progress at select society meetings.
