Recently, it was brought to the board’s attention that an organized sports team was using the Stonepine park for their practices. Some concern was ex-pressed about whether or not Stonepine’s insurance policy would cover this use of the subdivision’s park.

The Board investigated, asking our insurance car-rier and lawyer to exam-ine the issue and report back. Following that investiga-tion, it was determined that Stonepine’s insurance would indeed cover such use.

Further, the Board is asking that any outside or organized team that wants to use the park, should inquire of the board by email to see if the park is available and reserve their requested time(s).

Speeding & Stop Sign Running in Stonepine

The Board has decided to engage the Precinct 4 Constable’s officers to arrange for additional patrols designed to curtail ongoing speeding in Stonepine as well as stop sign running.

The times will be unannounced and randomly scattered.

The speed limit in Stonepine is 30 mph. Stop signs need to be obeyed.

The concerns of the neighborhood as such that with the large number of children we have, plus many school buses in the subdivision every day, we are seeing too many speeders and stop signs being ignored by too many people.

Additionally, the Board is also investigating a long-term possibility of lowering the speed limits within Stonepine. There are a number of hurdles to this process, & there are no guarantees that this will come to pass any time soon.
