HIGHLIGHTS
The Athenian Players of Athens State University are presenting productions of a grouping of modern American one act plays.
Kim Roberts, Assistant Professor of Operations Management was selected as the 2015 Outstanding Research Student in Instructional Technology at The University of Alabama.
Athens State chapter of Delta Mu Delta International Business Honor Society received Star Award 2014 (13th time to win this award).
The Delta Mu Delta Honor Society’s induction ceremony will be on Sunday, April 19, at 2:00 pm.

HIGHLIGHTS Students in the art major, graphic design track at Athens State University have won awards in a logo design contest and info graphic design contest.
Athens State’s Accounting Club Ambassador was selected by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) to participate in a Leadership Experience program.
Athens State University hosted the 2nd Annual Youth Education and Awareness (Y.E.A.) Conference on Saturday, April 11, 2015.
Athens Sate University sponsored the 26th Annual African American Read In for Black History Month.

HIGHLIGHTSAthens State University will host the 1st Annual WeTEACH Conference. The conference will host 200 high school students who are interested in becoming professional educators. Conference participants are enrolled in the Education and Training Career Pathways Programs in their respective high schools. As a part of the conference, five outstanding COE Alumni who have been nominated by principals and community leaders will be recognized. Dr. Tommy Bice, State Superintendent of Education will be the guest speaker. Participating schools include: Dothan Technology Center Academy of Urban Educators Career Technical Center, Limestone County Schools Sparkman High School Madison County Career and Tech Center Fort Payne High School Hartselle High School Albert P. Brewer High School Athens High School Brindlee Mountain High School

HIGHLIGHTS The College of Education is being
awarded a one-time $25,000 grant to support its participation as a pilot institution for edTPA, as a statewide performance assessment for initial Professional Educator Certification.
The ED 302 Conference was held on Athens State University’s campus April 8th – 10th.
