A LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Martin Patrons and Supporters:

I am very pleased and proud to share this annual report with you. The 2015

calendar year has been a very productive one for the University. However,

none of our successes would have been possible without the financial

support, volunteer service, and continuous contributions of faculty, staff,

patrons, community funders and our Board of Trustees.

We completed and implemented our new three-year Strategic Plan. It was the

first formal act to transform our University. We now have the road map, the

goals, objectives and enabling activities to make tremendous progress over

the next three years. The finances are in the best shape of the last six years

and we are currently working to build our cash balance.

With the help of a grant from USA Funds, we have given the campus a

needed facelift. This included a new look for the main entry, seal coating the

parking lot, demolition of three vacant houses, and the addition of a new bus

shelter at 22nd Street and Avondale Place. We were also able to expand our

marketing and public relations activities.

Yes, 2015 was productive and very exciting, but its just the beginning. With

your continued support and involvement, 2016 will take us to a higher level of

success and progress. Please join us and stay "All In For Martin" in 2016.

Respectfully,

Eugene G. White, Ed.D., President

was filled with change, growth, purpose and a commitment to reach higher. Martin recognized its champions, celebrated great accomplishments, and endeavored to lead its students, its faculty and staff, and the community to reaching their goals. No small feat for Indiana's Only Predominately Black Institution for Higher Education, Martin reduced its deficit, resetting its course. The University also recognized some of its greatest champions, those who have supported the University over its 38 plus year history, including its surviving co-founder Sr. Jane Edward Schilling. Homecoming Week events, including the Annual President's Breakfast, were opportunities to regenerate, renew, and establish relationships both old and new.

Martin University, IUPUI, and University of Indianapolis Gospel Choirs

artin's primary focus has been to support its students in

ways other organizations often found little value, a place

to assist students in removing barriers to complete their

educational goals. In June of 2015, Martin received a

grant that bolstered its ability to enhance its student

support services programs.

The Drop-In Center, which opened in January 2015,

offers currently enrolled Martin students 4 hours of

childcare while attending classes at a minimal cost.

The Student Success Center is a popular resource for

Martin students. The Center received additional funding

to employ additional tutors, provide additional learning

tools, and as a compliment to the program, the

Convocation Series was reinstituted. The Convocation

Series provided and will continue to provide Martin

students with opportunities to learn from professionals

through the interactive lecture and skills development

series.
