Team Manager Walk-Thru is the time before tournament when you get to see where your team will be performing (which room on campus), where the prep area is (i.e., where you start/check-in for your Team Challenge), where your team enters the room for performing, the performance area, where you drop off your props, etc. Your challenge master will be there to answer any questions you may have. This event is for TEAM MANAGERS ONLY! (Co-TMs are welcome too!) Contact Judy Lawrie with questions: [email protected]

Plan for Rain Of course, we all hope for no
rain on tournament day, but
rain appears to be the norm
for us this winter! Think
about how your team can
protect all of their props
from water damage–they
will have to carry them
through uncovered areas.
Also note, wind is a common
issue in the Dublin hills. Be
prepared!
We will provide limited
covered space for all prep
areas for every challenge.
Tournament FOOD Food Trucks from Food Truck Mafia will be on site for all the nourishment and refreshments your team and spectators could want. The food trucks will offer food for sale from 11am to 2:00pm and again from 3:00pm to 5:30pm. They will be set up right in front of the school, in the first row of parking in the main lot. Bring cash or credit cards for all food truck purchases.
Before the food trucks arrive, we will have a variety of snacks and waters available for purchase in the courtyard outside the Student Center (8am-‐11am).
.
Please confirm with your team appraisers that they have the day marked for Appraiser Training on Saturday, January 30th. This training is held at Foothill High School in Pleasanton and it begins promptly at 9am. All new appraisers should arrive at 8:45 to check in and take a seat. New appraisers should expect to be there all day, until approximately 4pm. Experienced trainers who have been to DI Appraiser Training before, can arrive at 11:45 to check in, eat lunch and attend afternoon training.
All appraisers will be given lunch at Appraiser Training. On tournament day, all appraisers will get their DI appraiser t-‐shirt plus snacks, coffee, water and free lunch.
If your appraisers do not attend training, they will not be allowed to appraise on tournament day and your team may not be scored at tournament.

Volunteer Job Assignments For our 2015-‐16 Regional Tournament, we will be asking all volunteers to sign up for their preferred volunteer job online. We will not assign them a job, all jobs are first-‐come, first-‐served.
Coming Soon! An email will be sent out to all tournament volunteers from Sign-‐Up Genius and your volunteer will be required to select the volunteer job they want to do on tournament day. Please let your team volunteer know to look for this email and sign up asap.
Prior to sending the Sign-‐Up Genius link, we will be sending all team managers the schedule for their teams for tournament day. Please be sure to share this with your volunteer so they can select a job time slot that will allow them to watch the team perform.

Issue 201516.5
Tournament day is coming up quick–just four weeks and it’s showtime! There are a few things we’d like to you to be aware of so you can share with the team and families. Some of these are changes from last year, some are simply tips to make this a stress-free event for all.
! We will be having two separate Awards Ceremonies. The first ceremony is at 5pm, the second at 7pm. Both in the gym.
5pm ceremony: o Technical – Middle and Secondary level o Scientific – all levels o Performing Arts – Middle and Secondary level o Improv – all levels o Project Outreach – all levels
7pm ceremony: o Technical -- Elementary level o Structural – all levels o Performing Arts -- Elementary level
! We have Food Trucks providing lots of great food for purchase from 11am to 2:00pm and again from 3:00pm to 5:30pm.
! We will have a team “Ta-Da” photo booth so all teams can have a group photo taken by a tournament photographer. This area is outside the main IC check-in area. Be sure to stop in during the day.
! There will be many fun activities for kids during the full tournament day. Each team will get their ‘play pack’ when they check in upon arrival. Teams that complete the tournament game can earn prizes.
! There will be 30% more teams at our tournament this year, so it will be a little more crowded everywhere. Allow plenty of time to park and get to your performance areas. Plan to carpool if possible.
All of our tournament details are available on the website: http://www.caldi.org/regions/bestofthebayregion/
