Bobby’s love for cars started at a very young age working with his father Harold “Red” Korn who owns race cars in the 1930’s.
• He was testing a car when it rolled and broke his back. He never drove again, and that is when he took over in his early teenage years as chief mechanic.
In 1957 his car had 40 wins and Ohio State Champ and again in 1958 there was 34 feature
wins with Harold Smith driving his car.
He was inducted to the KilKare Hall of Fame in 2011 and the Dayton Auto Racing Hall of Fame in 2014.
He lost his right hand in a farming accident in 1976 and still won 2 track
Championships with dick Dunlevy Jr his next year back.
He had many of the legends drive for him and few of them were Dick Dunlevy Sr and Jr, John Vallo, Harold Smith, Dick Freeman, Larry
Moore, Dave Brandenburg, Bill Chambers,
The last 5 years of his racing career his grandson Bobby helped him out on the cars
and in the garage.
The latest drivers to drive his cars were Jason and Donnie Mahaffey. Donnie was
the last driver to win a track Championship in Bobby’s car.
