BOISE IDAHO GUIDE
Welcome to BoiseLet me be the first to Welcome you Boise, ID. I first moved to Idaho in 1995 managing the
lodge at Grand Targhee Ski Resort. I have also lived in the resort towns of Stanley and Riggins and if you are familiar with those areas, you can imagine the experiences my wife and I have shared. I have guided horses in Yellowstone, been a snowmobile and snow coach
guide, flyfishing guide and lived in some of the coolest place including a cabin on the Teton River. Fast forward, Monica and I have now lived in Boise for for almost 13 years with my two Sons, Kentucky (aka Tucker) and Lincoln. Most of our friends consider us the “fun family” as we love to explore and just go do things. Our favorite place is probably Swan Falls, but we like to jump in the car and find new places like Jump Creek outside Marsing or a new camping spot in Stanley. Anyway, 10 years ago, after owning a lighting retail store, I decided to build a website focused on new construction. It could not have been worse timing. Just as I launched my new business & website, the real estate market fell apart but people liked what we were doing and we continued to grow and expand the vision of the website. Today, Build Idaho is recognized as the leading authority on new construction in Boise, referenced regularly by the media.

A YEAR IN IDAHOTo Move or Not SPRING SUMMERWe experience all 4 seasons here. So, if you like fall colors, or warm sunny days or colder weather, you can have them all. The region doesn’t get too cold in the winter and the summers, though sometimes hot, are tempered by the dry climate, cool nights and pleasant breeze. The high desert climate also means clear skies and sunny days!
Spring in Boise is a great time to experiance what Boise has to offer. The city seems to burst into action every spring. The trees become alive and green and all the colors of spring will engulf you. Outdoor activitis like hiking and walking the Greenbelt become a pleasurable afternoon activitie for all.
Summer is the driest of all the seasons. If the weather has been hot for several days, however, it can bring in rainstorms. These typically bring very little rain but do cool things off. In fact, if you are caught in many of our summer rainstorms you won’t get wet - the raindrops can evaporate as fast as they fall.

WINTER
Boise is affectionately known as the “City of Trees.” During the fall there is an explotion of colors. The city is highlighted by reds and oranges. Take a drive down Harrison Blvd during the fall is a must-do for anyone new to the area.
If you don’t like snow — you’re in luck. If you LOVE snow — you’re in luck. The weather in the valley is dry, so there is little snow or rain. For those that look forward to winter play, however, the mountains surrounding Boise offer the snow that they seek!
