En la sexta versión del Boletín del Instituto de Estudios Europeos (IEE) de la Universidad del Norte en Barranquilla,

Colombia, nos gustaría brindarles información sobre los eventos realizados en el semestre anterior, así como

también los futuros proyectos. Al mismo tiempo, este boletín es una especie de innovación: Además del formato clásico, también es posible leer el boletín en ISSUU-Data.

La primera publicación del IEE fue lanzada en Octubre del 2012. El libro “Desarrollo e integración. Reflexiones sobre Colombia y la Unión Europea” ilustra los diversos aspectos de la compleja relación entre la Unión Europea y Colombia. Autores de Latinoamérica y Europa discuten temáticas como la crisis de la Unión Europea y la Comunidad Andina de Naciones (CAN), disparidades regionales en Colombia y la Unión Europea, la Política Exterior de la Unión Europea, así como también, el Tratado de Libre Comercio entre la Unión Europea, Colombia y Perú. El libro contiene los artículos de: Alexis de Greiff, Horacio Godoy, Roberto González, Silvana Insignares, Günter Mertins, Jan Marco Müller, Eduardo Pastrana, Jorge Quevedo, Gustavo Rodríguez, Carlo Tassara.

El libro fue publicado en el marco de la visita del Sr. Wolfgang Gairing, Director regional del DAAD para Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Argentina y Perú, en la Universidad del Norte, el 23 de Octubre de 2012.


Otro libro fue presentado con la temática “Europa y Latinoamérica” en Octubre de 2012: La colección: “Diálogos y Desafíos euro-latinoamericanos: Ensayos sobre Cooperación, Derecho, Educación y Comunicación” publicado por Elías Said Hung contiene diversas contribuciones realizadas en las conferencias de la Cátedra Europa 2011. La semana del Nuevo cine alemán atrajo gran interés en la Universidad del Norte, fue organizada en cooperación con Ramón García-Ziemsen del Departamento de Comunicación Social y apoyada por el Goethe-Institut Bogotá. Durante la primera semana de octubre, ocho películas fueron presentadas, estas transfirieron una nueva visión, moderna y controversial de Alemania y Europa. El IEE tiene una nueva página web, como parte de la reorganización de las páginas web de la universidad del Norte, el IEE renovó su sitio web con el propósito de hacer la página más interactiva, integrando las redes sociales como: Facebook, Twitter y Youtube. La dirección web continúa siendo la misma, la nueva página web del Instituto puede encontrarla en el siguiente enlace: www.uninorte.edu.co/iee


En la semana del 18 al 22 de Marzo del 2013 se llevará a cabo la Cátedra Europa de la Universidad del Norte. El Instituto de Estudios Europeos organiza en el marco de la Cátedra dos paneles, en los cuales expertos de Europa y Latinoamérica serán invitados. El 19 de Marzo se realizará el panel “La crisis y el Futuro de la Unión Europea” en donde habrá una discusión sobre la situación actual en la Unión Europea así como también las consecuencias en la crisis Latinoamericana. Previsto para el 20 de marzo, el IEE organizará el panel “¿Cómo crear una ciudad competitiva? Experiencias de Europa y las Américas” el cual es acerca de la competitividad urbana, no solamente desde el punto de vista económico, sino también desde una perspectiva social, política y ecológica. Recientemente fue aprobada por el Ministerio de Educación de Colombia la “Especialización en Estudios Europeos con énfasis en la Unión Europea”. El objetivo es ofrecer un curso de postgrado durante un año, en el cual particularmente se estudiara el modus operandi de la Unión Europea y sus relaciones con Latinoamérica. Die erste Veröffentlichung des IEEs ist im Oktober 2012 erschienen. Das Buch “Desarrollo e integracíon. Reflexiones sobre Colombia y la Unión Europea” zeigt verschiedene Aspekte des komplexen Verhältnisses zwischen der Europäischen Union und Kolumbien auf. Lateinamerikanische und europäische Autoren behandeln Themen wie die Krise der Europäischen Union und der Andengemeinschaft, räumliche Disparitäten in Kolumbien und der Europäischen Union, die Aussenpolitik der Europäischen Union sowie das Freihandelsabkommen zwischen der Europäischen Union, Kolumbien und Peru. Das Buch enthält u.a. Beiträge von Alexis de Greiff, Horacio Godoy, Roberto Gonzalez, Silvana Insignares, Günter Mertins, Jan Marco Müller, Eduardo .

Das Buch wurde im Rahmen des Besuchs von Wolfgang Gairing, Leiter des Referats für Kolumbien, Ecuador, Bolivien, Argentinien und Perú des DAADs an der Universidad del Norte am 23.10.2012 vorgestellt.

Ein weiteres Buch zum Thema Europa und Lateinamerika wurde ebenfalls im Oktober 2012 vorgestellt: Der von Elias Said Hung herausgegebene Sammelband „Diálogos y desafíos euro-latinoamericanos. Ensayos sobre cooperación, derecho, educación y comunicación” enthält unterschiedliche Beiträge der Konferenz Catédra Europa 2011. Das Buch steht gratis als ebook auf den Seiten der Universidad del Norte als Download zur Verfügung.


Die in Kooperation mit Ramon Garcia-Ziemsen vom Departamento de Comunicacion Social veranstaltete sowie durch das Goethe-Institut Bogotá unterstützte Woche des Neuen Deutschen Films an der Universidad del Norte ist auf großes Interesse gestoßen. Während der ersten Oktoberwoche wurden acht Filme gezeigt, die auf unterschiedliche Art und Weise ein neues, modernes und durchaus kontroverses Bild von Deutschland und Europa vermitteln. Ein besonderer Dank gilt Harold Vega Teran, der die Videotrailer zu den einzelnen Veranstaltungen erstellt hat. Das IEE hat eine neue Internetpräsenz. Im Zuge der Umgestaltung der Seiten der Universidad de Norte haben wir auch die Seiten des Instituts erneuert. Ziel ist es, die Seiten interaktiver zu machen und die sozialen Netze wie Facebook, Twitter und Youtube stärker einzubeziehen. Auch die Adresse hat sich geändert: die neue Internetseite des Instituts findet sich unter: www.uninorte.edu.co/iee


In der Woche vom 18.-22. März 2013 wird die große Europakonferenz der Universidad del Norte „Catédra Europa“ stattfinden. Das Institut für Europastudien organisiert im Rahmen der Konferenz zwei Panel und wird hierzu Experten aus Europa und Lateinamerika einladen. Am 19. März findet das Panel „La crisis y el futuro de la Unión Europea“ statt, in dem unter anderem über die aktuelle Situation der Europäischen Union sowie die Auswirkungen der Krise auf Lateinamerika diskutiert wird. Voraussichtlich am 20. März 2013 wird das IEE das Panel “¿Cómo crear una ciudad competitiva? Experiencias de Europa y las Américas” in der es um städtische Wettbewerbsfähigkeit nicht nur aus ökonomischer sondern auch aus sozialer, politischer und ökologischer Sicht gehen wird. Vor Kurzem wurde die ”Especialización en Estudios Europeos con énfasis en la Uníon Europea” vom kolumbianischen Bildungsministerium genehmigt. Ziel ist es, einen einjährigen Aufbaustudiengang in Europastudien an der Universidad del Norte anzubieten, in der insbesondere die Funktionsweise der Europäischen Union und die Beziehung zu Lateinamerika im Vordergrund steht. The first book of the IEE was published in October 2012. The book “Desarrollo e integracíon. Reflexiones sobre Colombia y la Unión Europea” illustrates the different aspects of the complex relation between the European Union and Colombia. Authors from Latin-America and Europe discuss topics like the crisis of the European Union and the Andean Community of Nations, regional disparities in Colombia and the European Union, the foreign policy of the European Union, as well as the Free Trade Agreement between the European Union, Colombia and Peru. The book contains articles from Alexis de Greiff, Horacio Godoy, Roberto González, Silvana Insignares, Günter Mertins, Jan Marco Müller, Eduardo Pastrana, Jorge Quevedo, Gustavo Rodríguez, and Carlo Tassara.

The book was presented during the visit of Wolfgang Gairing, Director of the Department 416 for Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Argentina and Peru of the DAAD at the Universidad del Norte on the 23rd of October 2012.


Another book with the topic Europe and Latin-America was also presented in October 2012: The edited volume „Diálogos y desafíos euro-latinoamericanos. Ensayos sobre cooperación, derecho, educación y comunicación” published by Elias Said Hung contains diverse contributions of the conference Catédra Europa 2011. The book is available as free-download on the webpages of the Universidad del Norte.


The week of the New German Movie at the Universidad del Norte which was organized in cooperation with Ramon Garcia-Ziemsen of the Department of Social Communication, and supported by the Goethe-Institute Bogotá attracted lots of interest. During the first week in October eight movies were presented, which transmitted new, modern, and quite controversial images of Germany and Europe. The IEE has a new web page. As part of the reorganization of the websites of the Universidad del Norte we also renewed the Institute’s pages. The purpose is to make our website more interactive and to integrate social networks like Facebook, Twitter and Youtube. In the week of the 18th - 22nd March 2013 the conference “Catédra Europa“ of the Universidad del Norte will take place. The Institute for European Studies organizes in this framework two panels. On March 19th the panel “La crisis y el futuro de la Unión Europea“ it will take place, in which we will discuss about the current situation of the European Union as well as the consequences of the crisis on Latin America. On March 20th the IEE will organize the panel “¿Cómo crear una ciudad competitiva? Experiencias de Europa y las Américas” it will tackle the issue of urban competitiveness, not only from an economical point of view but also from a social, political and ecological perspective. Recently the ”Especialización en Estudios Europeos con énfasis en la Unión Europea” was approved by the Colombian Ministry of Education.
