Boston Police Department report a third explosion on JKF Library approximately 4 p.m. The first count of injury/ deaths reported two dead and 23 wounded, according to BPD at 4:02 p.m. BPD releases its first press conference approximately 4:30 p.m. A fire is reported at JFK Library approximately 5:30 p.m. President Obama releases a statement at 6:11 p.m. “They are safe, but we don’t know what is going to happen next,” he said. “But make no mistake — we will get to the bottom of this. And we will find out who did this; we’ll find out why they did this. Any responsible in- dividuals, any responsible groups will feel the full weight of justice.” At 7:15 p.m., The Boston Globe reports an 8-year-old boy dead. *A total of three people were killed and more than 130 injured in the com- bined explosions according to BPD.
