Veterans DayOur Veterans Day ceremony will be held this Friday, November 8th, from 7:45 until, approximately, 8:30. Please plan on joining us to honor and thank all those military personnel who have protected and served our country.

I am creating a PowerPoint slideshow to pay respect to the veterans of students and staff of Healthy Learning Academy. If you have a family member that you would like to be represented, please send me his/her picture by Wednesday, November 6th, at the very latest. In addition, include the following:

Name Rank Military branch War fought in (if applicable) Student(s) that they are related to

If you submitted a photograph and information last year, I will use that in the slideshow. I hope we have a large turn-out to honor these American heroes.

ELA: We focused on fact and opinion, past, present, and future tenses, and the root word, “spec.”SS: This week, we began Ch. 5, and we will now be learning about the American Revolution!Math: We just tested on Ch. 8, and will now learn how to add and subtract fractions.S cience : Unit 7 will introduce students to electricity, and things like electrical circuits, conductors, and insulators.

Word of the Week:Our word of the week was “unique.” Being unique means having no like or equal. While we share similarities with our classmates, we’re all unique individuals. Focus on being you. You bring something different to what anyone else can offer. The world needs people who can make a difference in their own way.
