First of all, let’s start with forewords. It is the story of the little Zoe Jane who discove-red that the sun himself was its symbol. That is why she admires people who shine more than others. Sometimes she ends up to love them. It’s that warm and bright love that propels her into a creative frenzy full of winks and smiles.

This is how she began her path of the sun.

If you understood everything correctly, we will talk you about weather. But in this weather report, we won’t talk about rain, or even the shadow of a cloud! Sen. Sen Only, behind its enigmatic name, is to praise our favorite hot star: the Sun. But we won’t tell you about any sun. No no. We won’t talk about science, saying the sun is a huge ball of gas burning billions of miles from us, or that sun scorched our skin every summer because we made too long nap on our beach towel. No no, here we gonna focus on the sun as a symbol. A powerful symbol. This symbol that inspired all religions existing, who gave his name to Louis XIV, who is regarded as a fledged entity. It is this sun what we’ll talk.

Bright, burning, flamboyant, divine and especially vital.

But representing all this super nova of attibutes would be very pretentious. So we will treat the subject by theme. As sun is a symbol, let’s study its symbolic because they are nume-rous and very rich in terms of inspiration. Each collection Sen. Only Sen will therefore be a sun symbolic subject of research in order to explore every inch of its light rays. When we say symbolic, it can be seen in a wide context. The goal is to express the perception we have of the sun, whether in religious or popular culture. The challenge of Sen. Only Sen is to translate these symbolics into garment collections . For this, three golden rules: We study the symbolic, we appropriate it, we operate in our way. Each theme is not trea-ted independently of other collections. There is a unity between them. This unity is also reflected by the application of three rules: Predominance of patterns, the golden color by small touches and round shapes for design garment. Textile printing is at the heart of solar collections, the use of gold as a wink to the undisputed brilliance of the sun will be as small subtle details and rounded shapes on clothing will echo to the round shape of the sun.

The solar colections will be both different and connected.

But what is the target of Sen. Only Sen? The answer is simple. If in popular and religious culture, the moon is associated with female sex, the sun is male. The man will be at the heart of solar topics. Because in our humble opinion, all men are like suns, but somes shine brighter than others and want to burn hardly in expanding their rays of light . So let’s give them the opportunity to do so. Sen. only Sen has the ambition to restore a bit of fan-tasy and color in the male wardrobe which is often too dull eventually fade. Away from catwalks, more in daily streetlife, stylistic darings are usualy reserved for the female war-drobe. Even if the situation is changing dramatically and the creative spirit in men fashion is moving significantly, the majority is still shy to change its fashion habits full of simplicity and banality. If the ready to wear suggests more colors and fantasy in its collections, the eye of the male would be more curious of new experiments and discoveries. Without pretention, Sen. Only Sen wants to contribute to this ongoing revolution in the service of color and creative daring explosion.

Solar man according to Sen. Only Sen has no age. But it is a demanding person who is looking for a unique and bold style. He does not want to dress like everyone else, and does not want to blend in. He is looking for elements that make the difference. He pays attention to details and small creative touches. Solar man knows how to detect the true subtlety of a piece of clothing. Sensitive to the visual arts, he likes explosions of color and illustrative patterns, who tells a story, those rich in meaning. According to him, it is also interesting to experiment on physical volumes, that’s why he likes to play with contrasts. Sometimes fluid, sometimes rigid, volume blending is common. He is seeking elegance and uniqueness, sophistication and simplicity, rigor and creative impulsiveness. Solar man is controversial and picky with respect to its choice of clothing. He is an assertive person, sure of himself and who attaches great importance to the image he generates. Casually, he wants to create a character through clothing he wears. He does not want to dress his body, but the person first.

Do you smell this fl avor that emerges? A fl oral smell we would say. it’s a good thing because fl oral patterns are increasing in the menswear, so let’s going on! For this, we are going to honor, ladies and gentlemen, the only one solar fl ower, which always follows the path of the sun, I name the sunfl ower.

Sunfl ower. This fl ower a little rough but full of wealth has inspired many cultures around the world for the correlation between it and the sun. For this collection we decided to go to the eastern part of the world where the sun shows its fi rst rays. This is in the country of the Rising Sun that the story begins. We wanted to give a strong identity to this fl ower, star of this collection, and we have chosen a Japanese manga as source of inspiration. This is the anime Samurai Champloo released in 2004. A true small Japanese jewelry, this 26-episode story was, and still is truly inspirational for our creative impulses. Let us tell you about this crazy tale, but serious.

The story takes place in the Edo era in Japan, where a nice little trio crosses the country is looking for the samurai who smells sunfl ower. This is ironic because the sunfl ower is one of the rare fl ower in the world to have no smell. This is where we come in. Our challenge with this collection Spring / Summer 2016, assign a smell to the sunfl ower through the world of Samurai Champloo in Sen. Only Sen way. Beyond telling a story about the Japanese medieval universe, this manga has especially a strong graphic and musical style which gives it a unique fl avor among the manga world. The subtlety of this manga is the mix between Japanese medieval world and modern hip hop. Punctuated by beats of hip hop jazzy on a background of gaffi tis drawn on Japanese sacred temples, the action takes place at the rate of sword strokes and rapped verbal duels by characters. Where are anachronisms are making the law, the sunfl ower is like a common theme both draft and mastered.

Here is the action plan for this collection. Pattern will be the master for the summer 2016.As highly colorful illustrations, patterns for the collection are directly inspired of the world of Samurai Champloo with splash scents and paint run in graffi ti wayM. Japanese pat-tern becomes casual, let it go and reinvents itself in hip hop way. With watercolor as raw material, patterns will be completely handmade, sprinkled with gold embroideries. In addition to rely on serie graphics , the inspiration in order to design patterns come form also illustrations of CD covers artists who composed the soundtrack of Samurai Cham-ploo. We urge you strongly to listen all the discography of Nujabes, Japanese DJ and instrumental jazzy trip hop true god, which is also an undeniable source of inspiration for this collection. As well as music as watercolor handmade artworks. Patterns are also a little nod to Conrad Roset works, spanish artist who created muses adorned with delicate ultra colored paint runs.

This collection wants to give an atmosphere a bit messy and dreamlike in its patterns which would be highlighted by white, off white and raw fabrics. Such canvases for pain-ting slightly yellowed by the sun. The goal is to build clothing as a work of painting great master that we admire, on which we dwell to analyze the meaning and appreciate the artistic fl avor. Like a splash of diluted pigment thrown on a blank canvas.

Sen. Only Sen wants to put its collection in a subtle blend of casual style ethnic and sportswear. For creating shapes both fluids, weightless and clean volumes. The goal of this collection about shape inspiration, it is first of all the balance between the diffe-rent pieces of garment. Outfits remain modern, urban while registering in a fantasy style. Rounded cuts are law because solar aspect is paramount. Layering games, material blending, contrasted lengths occur on the solar man body. Gold details are converted through the use of embroidered braid sewn on several yokes, piping in seams and few centimeters of bias in strategic locations. Sunflower design is not only shown in patterns but also directly in the fabric via incrustation and quilting. Smell of Sunflower silhouettes are drawn with oversized and arched shapes which create a relaxed attitude that some-times take on a more conventional and rigid appearance. If we focus on fabrics and co-lors used, off white is the masterpiece with a range of m natural materials such as cotton and linen. Polyester and leather are also used for the collection to generate contrasting volumes. The primary purpose of this collection is creating a real fantasy cloting through subtle details but while offering a collection that can be worn in everyday life and by the greatest number.

the muse Even though we are engaged in hip hop atmosphere, a little touch of rock and roll is welcome. For Spring/Summer 2016, Sen. Only Sen chose as muse the singer and son-gwriter of the alternative californian rock band Incubus:

Brandon Boyd

Singer for work, illustrator at times, this little californian sun is an artist who has a rich mu-sical and graphic universe that approximates hugely with that of Sen. Only Sen. In fact, Brandon Boyd embodies the collection both physically and artistically. Creatures, por-traits and landscapes in ink on watercolor background, whispered sweet melodies on bass riffs, electrical rhythms punctuated with hip hop scratches, this shows the world of this sweet dreamer doped with creative impulses. Beyond his pretty face, Brandon Boyd has a casual elegant silhouette which gives him a natural and chic look. He embodies both the romantic and candid surfer and a pure force that wants unveil its strong universe to the world. It is this ambivalence that makes Brandon Boyd a bright face for Smell of the Sunflower collection. His thin silhouette may as well wears clothes of timeless menswear as fluid volumes which sublimate this candor that is his own.

Brandon Boyd is like a sunflower about to hatch that punctuates this collection with a touch of boldness and imagination.
