How to get there: Baixa-Chiado (green / blue line)

Terreiro do Paço

It is one of the biggest squares in Europe and it is faced to the

river. This is a beautiful place to take a walk and get surprised

by the most random activities that are done here. This was the

place from which our navigates departed to discover the South

of Africa, the South of America and the maritime way to India.

Rua Augusta

This is probably one of the most famous streets. It

is beautiful to see really amazing artists

performing on the streets, singers, dancers,

human sculptures, etc. This people are just

looking for your appreciation on their work!

There are also clothing stores like Mango,

Bershka, Intimissimi, a museum of design and

fashion, restaurants, coffees, souvenir shops, etc.

Rossio

Where the theater of D. Maria is placed at,

Rossio is a leaving history book, ready to be

relived by you! In the middle of the square you

can find the statue of D. Pedro IV and 4 feminine

shapes which represent Justice , Wisdom ,

Strength and Temperance. You can find here

McDonald's and Startbucks.

Castle of São Jorge

Open to the public 7 days a week, the Castle of São Jorge

is a place where you can enjoy the patrimony, get to

know some of the history of Lisbon at the Museum, take

a break at Café Castle, participate in guided tours or, you

can simply let yourself be swept away by the music,

theater and dance that the monument has everyday!

Alfama and Mouraria

It is two of the most typical

neighborhoods in Lisbon and both have

spectacular views over the city! So

much, that it will be worthy to go up the

hilly streets.

Jardim do Príncipe RealThis romantic garden is the center of a square surrounded byelegant buildings. It's an urban refuge with a gigantic parasol-likecedar tree under which old ladies, families, or young couples sitfor a while, as old men play cards and children run around a smallplayground. There is also a café with outdoor seating, and twokiosks serving refreshments.

Jardim da EstrelaIt’s a romantic garden inpired in the britishstyle. It’s a wonderful place to relax and to be incontact with nature. This garden has abandstand that is the oldest in Lisbon.Next to it there is Basílica da Estrela

Lisbon ZooIf you want to be in touch with nature and allkinds of animals, this is the perfect place foryou! Curiosity: on the eating area, if you goto McDonald’s, you will eat with crocodilesby your side.

just a stadium. It also as a health club and arestaurante with panoramic view. Sometimes,there also are music concerts.

Located at the end of the Tagus river there is thismodern neighbourhood so many times called “the newLisbon’s downtown”.

Here you can walk and enjoy the amazing gardens bythe river as well as an amazing sunset.The host of the famous “Expo” in 1998 counts not onlywith its natural beauty of our lovely seashore but alsowith numerous attractions like the Oceanarium, theScience Pavilion and some of the greatest modernpieces of architecture.

And, at last butdefinitely not least,don’t forget about itsclassy nocturnal lifewith some great barsand nightclubs to enjoy.

Parque das Nações (Nations Park)

This monument celebrates the Age of Discovery. This was

the place were the first boats heading to Africa used to

depart from. In the monument you can see the main

characters of this part of the world’s history. Vasco da

Gama, who discovered the sea route to India, Pedro Alvares

Cabral, who discovered Brazil, Luis Vaz de Camões, one of

the most known writers, among others. It is a beautiful

place to see the sunset, to run, or just appreciate the beauty.

The Tower of Belém was classified

by UNESCO as "Cultural Patrimony

of All Humanity". In the past it was

used as strategic defense place, as a

prison and as a customhouse in the

Era of Discovery.

Pasteis de belém

These are the one of the most

famous gastronomic treasures of

Portugal. Although these pastries

are sold everywhere, this is the

most famous store selling them.

Exists for almost 180 years and

they sell around 20,000 pastries

every day. This is for without doubt

a mandatory stop for every sweets

lover!

Mosteiro dos jerónimos

It is one of the 7 Wonders of Portugal. The architectural style of

this beautiful and enormous monument was created in Portugal

and it is called Manuelino Style, due to the king’s name. Inside

you can find the grave of Vasco da Gama, the first men to get to

India by sea.

Cascais is a little city at the very end of Lisbon Seashore wherethe ancient and the modern live together in perfect harmony.In this bay there is beauty enough for all tastes. You may find ourlatest kings’ palaces from the 19th Century, lots of Navy historicalplaces or just enjoy a relaxed day in the beach, perhaps havingsome surf classes or have a drink by the sea.

Known as The Magic Village Sintra is a little townwhere you can breathe history and magic all overthe place.

Quinta da RegaleiraThe property includes a palace and it’s very famous by it’sbeautiful gardens and lakes and also by its mysteries. Manylegends of cults and magic rituals also take place here.

Sintra is also known by its traditionalcandies! If you pass by don’t forget to goto Piriquita, a famous coffee shop whereyou can taste Queijadas (left) andTravesseiros (right)!

Castelo dos MourosThe Muslin Castle was built during the8th and 9th Centuries during the Muslinoccupation of Iberia. Located in the top ofthe hills, the view extends to the Atlanticsea. That’s why during many centuries itwas one of the most important defenseand watching points of Lisbon

Palácio da PenaThis gorgeous and huge palaceis located on the top of thehills of Sintra’s natural park.There you can enjoy itsarchitecture on the outsideand inside, the marvelousrooms from the greatest kingsof Portugal as well as manymasterpieces of Portugueseart and its marvelous gardenssurrounding it.

By car, by bus, by train or by boat, you can

travel to the other side of the Tagus river

and discover Almada.

There you have dozens of kilometres ogbeautiful beaches (S. João da Caparica, Costada Caparica, Fonte da Telha...), ideal to catchsome sun, to surf or to stay in the bars at night.

You can also visit Almada Castle orone of the Miradouros.

There is the famous Cristo Rei,from where you have the mostamazing Lisbon view.

If you feel like going for a walk in thenature, there is an enormous park(Parque da Paz) where you canwalk, run or just relax.

There also is a shopping centre (AlmadaFórum), with shops, restaurants and acinema, ideal for a late night program.

Cais do sodré is one of the strokes areasof the city, with bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. It is a lively area with good wave, many foreign people and an environment that you will not find in any other European city.

Santos is also one of the most popularnightlife areas of Lisbon, good atmosphereand cheap drink are his strength.
