The idea for the project was born in the head of an ex-AIESECer, Douglas Martins, in 2005.

In 2009, the EduAction Pilot Project took place in Porto Alegre. In 2010 the project started expanding in 9 cities in Brazil, and in 2011 the project had its first expansion in Latin America: Colombia. By 2012 the project had expanded to Uruguay, Argentina, Mexico, and Peru.

In Colombia is developed by the EduAction Global Team in partnership with AIESEC in partnership and Diaco-Gerdau.

Currently the project is happening twice a year in 5 countries. Has already hosted hundreds of international volunteers and tens of thousands of students. And it is still growing...

It is considered the biggest and most professional project of AIESEC network.

Boyacá is a department of Colombia located in the middle east of the county. The capital is Tunja, about about 175 km from Bogota and around 3.000m hight above the sea, is why the climate is considered could high mountain.

The schools here we will work are located in Tuta and Sotaquirá, both cities located in the region of Alto Chicamocha, about 300 km from the department capital.

Yes, you are coming to Colombia, but don’t forget that - how said before - Boyacá is located in a cold region, as also as Bogotá. The first city its dryer, while the second one is a little bit humid, what makes the cold here much lighter then the European winter, for example. The average in Boyacá is between 25ºC (in sunny days) and 7ºC when its raining or early in the morning.

So bring your coat, but don’t forget your swimming suit, the among cities in Colombia are really hot, and you can enjoy it in your free time.

You will received a EduAction t-shirt to

use everyday in class, that way its better bring sweaters you

can put above it and a raining coat, as also as a good pair of shoes

for raining days.
