Message from the President

Dear Booksin Community, With Volunteer Appreciation Week just around the corner, I’ve been thinking about the hard work of BESCA volunteers who spend countless hours working to provide some of the amazing programs and awesome school events that Booksin is known for! I’ve been impressed, time and time again, with how these leaders come together for the good of our students and can’t thank them enough for their commitment to Booksin --- Alicia, Andrea, Azer, Brenda, Celeste, Chelsea, Christy, Craig, Don, Donna, Dynasti, Galen, Heidi, Helene, Hilda, Holly B, Holly G, Jackie, Janie, Jayna, Jill, Joyce, Julie, Karen, Karynn, Kate, Katie, Lisa, Mandy, Mark, Marta, Nancy, Reanna, Rocio, Sepideh, Tara, Tofoi, Tom, Toni, Veronica, Virginia and Windsor. As we wrap up the 2014-15 school year, know that there are still lots of way to get involved! With Family Fun Night just a few weeks away and Booksin’s Day at the Giants later in May, we could still use help. If you’re interested in getting more involved, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or Volunteer Coordinator, Jackie Clessuras at [email protected]. In the meantime, I wish every member of our community a wonderful spring break! Warmly, Kristina Kole BESCA President

2015 Walkathon Please join us in thanking our 2015 Walkathon Co-Chairs, Reanna Rhodes and Celeste Lindo! Reanna and Celeste are already hard at work and we can’t thank them enough for their time and dedication to Booksin! There are many more details to come, but in the meantime, please be sure to mark your calendar for Walkathon on Saturday, October 10, 2015!

April 22 -- Earth Day Plant Sale Come tour the garden and choose from a variety of sunflower seedlings, organized by the Garden Guardians! The Garden Guardians will begin sales at lunch 12:15-1:00pm and sales will continue after school. $1 per seedling, local honey by Craig Heitkam for sale too! All proceeds go back to support the garden.

Family Fun Night Hold the Date! This year’s annual Family Fun Night will be held on Friday, May 8th from 5-8pm. As a reminder, Family Fun Night is our end of the year celebration. This year’s event will include food trucks (we’ve upped the number from last year), games, as well as entertainment and some new activities. Our goal with these event updates is to make it less volunteer dependent than previous years, so that it can be an evening the entire family can enjoy together. FFN Questions? Please contact Katie Keene at [email protected].
