Boral Silkwood engineered hardwood ooring brings the sophistication

and warmth o real timber to a home in a range o unique Australian

hardwood timber species.

Boral Silkwood is designed with a quality multi-layer cross-ply

construction, providing a stable timber oor with easy installation over

many suraces. The entire Boral Silkwood range is made in Australia, rom

Australian hardwood species or Australian conditions by an Australian

company, Boral Timber.

Solid grounds or choosing Boral Silkwood

Boral Silkwood is available in nine beautiul Australian species ranging rom rich reds

to deep browns and lighter shades to suit any dcor rom traditional to modern.

Available in two popular single strip wide boards, 133mm x 15mm and 175mm x 18mm.

Boral Silkwood is ideal or new homes and renovations in all spaces, except wet areas

such as bathrooms and laundries.

The boards are prefnished with six layers o mid gloss UV cured acrylic scratch

resistant coating, avoiding the mess and umes o sanding and fnishing.

Boral Silkwood can be walked on within hours o installation.

Boral Silkwood can be laid over any level, at, structurally sound suboor such as a

concrete slab, plywood, or existing tiles and timber ooring.

Boral Silkwood can be re-sanded, just like traditional timber oors.

When used with an appropriate acoustic rated underlay, such as Boral RV-4, Boral

Silkwood is excellent or multi-level units where sound proofng is important.

Boral Silkwood is highly durable and easy to maintain making it ideal or asthmatics

and allergy suerers as it does not harbour dust or allergens.

aligned with the Australian Forestry Standard (AFS). AFS is

to wide board ooring and they are popular with consumers, interior designers and architects alike. Boral Silkwood engineered

hardwood ooring is supplied in two popular widths 133mm and the new 175mm wide board.

Boral Silkwood 133mm is oered in nine beautiul hardwood species all unique to Australia and perect or Australian liestyles.

From the warm honey tones o Blackbutt, Stringybark and Tallowwood to the rich reds o Sydney Blue Gum and Red Mahogany,

the Boral Silkwood palette oers unique colour and grain variations to suit your style. Blackbutt, Brushbox and Sydney Blue

Gum are also available in the 175mm wide board.

Boral Silkwood is available in Australiana grade which includes the most interesting and moderate natural eatures to enhance

the look o a timber oor.

Boral Silkwood is also available, as a special order, in Natural grade which has a high level o natural eature and may contain

some fnish imperections.

Engineered to perection

Finished with a solid hardwood top layer, Boral Silkwood

is precision engineered with a square edge providing a

consistent, at, smooth fnish. It is manuactured with

a multi-layer core structure, using a tongue and groove

system or a tight ft and long-term stability.

All Boral Silkwood oors are prefnished and treated with

six coats o scratch resistant mid-gloss UV cured acrylic

coating designed specifcally or Australian conditions.

Beautiul oors deserve a proessional installationInstalling Boral Silkwood can be quick and simple. However, Boral Timber recommends

the use o a proessional installer or a long term quality fnish.

Boral Silkwood may be glued directly to the suboor or a more solid eel underoot or

oated over Boral RV-4 underlay providing good sound insulation.

Care and maintenance

An advantage o a beautiul Boral Silkwood oor is that it is easy to keep clean. However,

regular maintenance will ensure a lietime o beauty so keep the ollowing care and

maintenance tips in mind.

For daily cleaning, use dry methods such as vacuuming and sweeping. To remove

stubborn dirt, use a well-rung mop and a pH neutral cleaner. Do not clean timber oors

with a steam mop.

Place doormats at entrances, non-slip rugs in high-wear areas and protective pads

under urniture legs.

Do not use abrasive brushes, steel wool, soap detergents or ammonia based cleaners.

Take care when moving appliances and urniture by placing them on a sturdy mat to

slide into position.
