NEW BORDEAUX CITY PROJECTS
NOUVEAU STADE
Designed by the famous swiss architects Jacques Herzog
and Pierre De Meuron, it will host 43 500 spectators. It is one
of the main project in the renovation of the Bordeaux-Lac
district close to the congress centre.

THE CITE DES CIVILISATIONS DU VIN
Neither a museum nor a theme park, but a concept which lies
somewhere in between. Visitors will explore the different facets of
wine, history, geography, geology, oenology, the arts, emotions,
experiences, sensations and dreams…
Opening in June 2016

Le PONT PASSERELLE JEAN-JACQUES BOSC
The ‘Pont Passerelle Jean Jacques Bosc’ will offer for the ’traffic part’, one lane
for the public transport, one lane for heavy trucks and light vehicles and a space for
sustainable transportation. The originality of this OMA project is the creation of a
major public space – « a platform above the Garonne » - permitted by a 10
meters extension of the pedestrian and two-wheeler space. Opening in 2018
LA MECA
« La Meca » aims to assemble in one place three cultural agencies
of the regional council : the Frac (Fonds régional d'art contemporain),
the Oara (Office artistique de la Région Aquitaine) and the Ecla (Écrit,
cinéma, livre, audiovisuel Aquitaine). Opening in 2017

DARWIN ECOSYSTEM
Darwin Ecosystem is a multi-dimensional project, an alternative place dedicated to responsible
and economic development, social entrepreneurship, ecological change and citizen
engagement.
On 3 hectares of ancient military wilderness in the heart of Bordeaux, DARWIN organizes the
collaboration between local actors contributing to cooperative social models.

Co-working place, restaurant and grocery, associative spaces, permanent place for reflexive and
festive events, DARWIN will become an eco-neighbourhood.

SAINT ÉMILION
The village of Saint-Emilion is a true medieval jewel,
inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List since 1999.
Romanesque and gothic churches, dungeons, catacombs and
an underground church lie in the middle of the most famous
vineyard in the world...

convention centre. There are regular transfers

of which 9 low cost companies are served by regular

The main company serving Bordeaux Mérignac
International Airport is Air France. It offers advantages

Easy access by High Speed Train (TGV)
Today Bordeaux is connected to Paris by TGV in 3 hours (25 trains/day). In 2017, the time will be reduced
to 2h20mn and Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport within 3 hours. The city centre is linked to the train

THE BORDEAUX CONGRESS CENTRE
Rebuilt in 2003 by the architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, the Bordeaux Convention Centre is
located near the ringroad, 15 minutes away from the international airport, and is served by the
urban transportation network.

THE CITÉ MONDIALE CONGRESS CENTRE
Located in the Chartrons, the 18th-century district of wine-merchants, in the
centre of the city near the wharfs of the Garonne river, this convention
centre houses has a 4* Mercure hotel with 97 rooms.
Auditorium of 300 seats, 1270 m2 of multi-purpose space, 10
committee rooms seating 20 to 238 persons, and one of the best views
over Bordeaux from the top floor. The function spaces of the Cité Mondiale
were renovated during the summer 2012.

LE PALAIS DE LA BOURSE
Steeped in French culture and history Palais de la Bourse offers a
unique environment withy a total of 2500 m² floor space suitable for
all type of events. Ideally located on the banks of the Garonne
River, near the Opera House , its is surrounded by several fine
hotels. The four areas of the Palais de la Bourse are fully modular
and equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
