Después de 40 años, fabricando botas de montaña y pies de gato y tras varias modificaciones de nuestras instalaciones en todo este tiempo, les presentamos nuestro proyecto de futuro.

Para poder hacer frente al incremento de la demanda y potenciar al mismo

tiempo el “Made in Spain”, que es parte de nuestra filosofía, inauguraremos nuestras nuevas instalaciones en 2016.

Incrementamos nuestra fábrica de Villena en 3.000 m2, con una completa

reestructuración, para adecuar las instalaciones al futuro, aprovechando recursos como la luz natural, la reutilización del agua de la lluvia y la mayor fusión posible con el medio ambiente.

Fabricar calzado en España, cada día es más complicado, por la desigual

competencia de otros países con mano de obra extremadamente más barata. En algunos casos las condiciones del mercado lo hacen imposible, pero en la mayoría de nuestras líneas de producto pensamos que es posible. Para continuar con nuestra filosofía, debemos maximizar al extremo la eficiencia y el orden, y para ello vamos a llevar a cabo la mayor inversión de nuestra historia en nuestras instalaciones.

El respeto al medio ambiente y las óptimas condiciones de trabajo para nuestros

empleados, será nuestra prioridad, y por ello, “Made in Spain” es nuestro lema. Por tanto, afrontamos el futuro, con una ilusión total de continuar llevando al

mercado unos productos que son nuestra pasión, así como ayudar al desarrollo de nuestra sociedad.

After 40 years of manufacturing mountain boots and rock climbing shoes, and after several updates to our manufacturing facilities along the way, we are proud to share with you our new project.

In order to be able to respond to increasing demand, while simultaneously allowing us to continue with our ‘Made in Spain’ philosophy, we are building a new manufacturing facility in 2016.

We are increasing the size of our factory in Villena, by 3000sqm, with a complete reconfiguration of our facilities to ready them for the future of our company. The new facilities will be ecologically sympathetic and use natural resources where possible such as natural light and rain water collection.

Manufacturing footwear in Spain becomes more challenging by the day, largely due to pressure from much cheaper overseas labour. In some cases market conditions make it impossible, but with the vast majority of our products we believe it is possible. To continue with our in-house production philosophy it is imperative that we maximise our efficiency, this is why we have chosen to make the biggest investment in our facilities in our company’s history.

Respect for the environment, the best possible working conditions for our employees and our legendary “Made in Spain” quality standards are our priorities.

We face the future with a complete commitment, bringing new products to the market with all our passion and at the same time developing our community.

With these new facilities and the overall forward progression of our company today we look forward to the next chapter in Boreal’s future.

En 1984 BOREAL crea la primera bota de montaña con una membrana impermeable (New-Tex®).

En 1986, fruto de la colaboración entre BOREAL y Gore lanzamos al mercado la primera bota de montaña con la membrana Gore-Tex®.

En 1995, con el sistema DRY-LINE®, conseguimos una aplicación vanguardista en las botas de montaña. La conjunción de la membrana Sympatex® 337 Profesional, el tejido soporte y la mono-microfibra, unen a sus valores de impermeabilidad, tenacidad, resistencia a la abrasión y aislamiento térmico, los de una transpiración y aireación excepcionales.

El grado de transpiración, resulta claramente multiplicado gracias al procedimiento de tejer la mono-microfibra. Ésta, en su interior, está configurada a modo de celdillas, con un efecto de muelle flexible y formando una cámara de aire, favoreciendo todo ello la evacuación rápida y longitudinal, de abajo a arriba, del vapor. Al mismo tiempo, al tener aire entre sus capas, también proporciona un aislamiento térmico.

En definitiva el sistema DRY-LINE® es mucho más que una simple membrana impermeable, ya que permite que nuestras botas sean las más transpirables del mercado.

Esta membrana (espesor de 1/66 de milímetro) está compuesta por un 70% de Poliéster, que le da la impermeabilidad, y un 30% de Poliéter, que permite la transpiración.

Membrana más ecológica del mercado: en su formulación entran el Carbono, Oxígeno e Hidrógeno, elementos químicos que cumplen todas las normas medioambientales.

Membrana más elástica del mercado: Se alarga hasta un 300%, resistiendo de una mejor manera a los pliegues, flexiones y continuas presiones.

Gran resistencia a la tenacidad en comparación con otras membranas del mercado.

The membrane (1/66 millimetre in thickness) is composed of 70% Polyester, which provides it’s waterproofness, and 30% Polyether, which provides it’s breathability.

Sympatex® is the most elastic membrane on the market: it has a stretching capacity of 300%. Thanks to this, it easily absorbs the constant flex and stresses generated by walking, trekking and mountaineering.

Unlike other membranes Sympatex® has no pores to clog, so it’s performance will not deteriorate with use or as the boots become dirty.

Halogen and solvent free, Sympatex® is the most eco-friendly membrane on the market.

In 1984 BOREAL developed the first mountain boot with a waterproof membrane (New-Tex®).

In 1986, BOREAL and Gore worked together to produce the world’s first mountain boot featuring a Gore-Tex® membrane.

In 1995 Boreal achieved a significant step forward in boot technology with the DRY-LINE® system. A unique combination of Sympatex® 337 Professional with a wicking micro-fibre which gives unparalleled water-proofness, breathability, high tenacity and resistance to abrasion.

The breathability of DRY-LINE® is increased by the special way in which the micro-fibres are knitted to the Sympatex® membrane. They form an air-space between the membrane and the inside of the boot liner. Because the micro-fibres are springy and flexible, perspiration is pumped vertically through the air space and out of the boot by the natural movement of the foot when walking, as well as wicking horizontally across the membrane.

The DRY-LINE® system is much more than just a waterproof membrane. It makes Boreal Mountain and Trekking boots simply the most breathable, durable and comfortable boots you’ll ever wear!

La horma The last

Un zapato de escalada, una vez calzado, debería quedar, de forma regular, "confortablemente ajustado" y no causar daño en ningún punto en particular (especialmente en la zona de los dedos). Los zapatos bien calzados, después de algún tiempo, se estirarán y producirán un "ajuste personal". Pero los zapatos que produzcan un dolor importante en "puntos de presión" no cederán fácilmente después del periodo de adaptación.

El factor más importante que afecta al calce correcto del zapato, es la forma de la horma (molde que sustituye al pie), elemento básico sobre el que se fabrica el zapato. Boreal, incorpora ciertas formas anatómicas en sus hormas, para conseguir diferentes efectos, dependiendo para lo que cada zapato está diseñado (canteo técnico, escalada deportiva, competición, largas rutas, etc.). Las dos características más importantes de las hormas, son la suma de dos factores: flexibilidad y forma de la planta.

A rock climbing shoe should fit "comfortably tight" throughout and never cause pain at any one particular point (especially in the toe box). Shoes fitted in this manner will stretch and produce a personalized fit after a while. Boots that produce painful "pressure points" usually won't stretch out after the initial breaking in period.

The most important factor affecting the shoe's fit is the shape of the last, the model "foot" around which the shoe is constructed. Boreal incorporates certain anatomical shapes in its lasts to achieve various effects depending upon what each shoe is designed for (technical edging, sport climbing, competition, long routes, etc.). No es necesario montarlo previamente sobre la horma. Simplemente, se mete la horma en su interior bien ajustada y atada. No necesita palmilla y, si se quiere, tampoco entresuela o relleno. De tal forma, es un zapato más ligero, sensible y flexible.

Esta construcción es más adecuada para hormas convexas.

El sistema "Guante", es ideal para escalada deportiva, paredes muy verticales, estructuras artificiales,... Las entresuelas son más finas, y dan una mayor sensación de sensibilidad y flexibilidad.

The slip-lasting method of construction involves sewing the leather uppers to the leather insole to create a kind of "sock". The sock is then slipped over the last and the midsole (if desired), rands, and soles are then glued on. This method of construction produces shoes that are lightweight, flexible, and very sensitive.

Slip-lasting is prefered for cambered lasts because stiff midsoles are not necessary to obtain edging performance and would destroy sensitivity with these types of shoes.

Slip lasted shoes are perfect for sport climbing, steep faces, and indoor climbing. The midsoles are very thin and provide incredible sensitivity and flexiblity.

Es en la que el "Corte" de piel, ya atado, va "montado-pegado" con adhesivo sobre la palmilla, previamente sujeta a la planta de la horma. Normalmente, lleva colocado, también, un relleno o entresuela. Por consiguiente, es un zapato más compacto y firme, que tiene más soporte.

Esta construcción se suele utilizar en hormas semi flexionadas o muy poco convexas, ya que, al llevar palmillas y entresuelas, suelen tener más rigidez en la planta y se pueden calzar más cómodas.

El sistema "Montado-Pegado", es ideal para cantos pequeños, escalada continuada de placas y aristas, largas rutas, escalada de fisuras... Son zapatos con mayor soporte, por las entresuelas más gruesas, que al ser montadas entre los cortes, quedan más integradas y dan mayor soporte y rigidez.

Board-lasting involves placing the laced uppers over the top of the last and wrapping them underneath and gluing them to the preplaced insole attached to the bottom of the last. Another midsole then fills in the center of the sole so that the rands and sole can be glued on. Because the insole is mounted inside the shoe, this method produces shoes with more integrity and durability.

Board-lasting is utilized with semi-flexed lasts because when the insole is mounted inside the uppers, the shoes already have sufficient stiffness for edging and are more comfortable to wear.

Board-lasted shoes are great for edging routes, long faces, and crack climbs. Because of their thicker midsoles and interiorly mounted insole, these shoes are stiffer and offer greater support and durability.
