STATEMENT OF REASONS

The Council has received multiple requests for an extension of the existing North Altrincham Parking Scheme to tackle an increase in commuter parking in the area. Following a parking survey conducted in September 2017, there was a clear indication that commuter parking was taking place on several roads within the area. An informal consultation letter containing a plan detailing the proposals was sent out to frontages in the area in December 2017. Following a review of the feedback and comments received from the consultation, it is now proposed to introduce new and or amend the existing restrictions. An informal consultation letter was also sent to residents in the area surrounding Roberts House on Manchester Road which proposed to amend the hours of the existing parking restrictions on Gladstone Road and Harcourt Road. All of the proposals are intended to improve parking accessibility to residents and benefit road safety, by alleviating obstruction issues in the area.
