POW/MIA Chair of Honor Unveiled P3
Gluten Free Arrives at the Garden P4
APRIL 2013
Boston Shines
Garden Neighborhood
Charities teamed up with
Boston Shines for the
11th annual day of
service in an effort to
keep the City of Boston
clean. A group of
associates from TD
Garden, Boston Bruins
and SportService took
time to volunteer today
to continue the tradition
of 'greening-up' our
neighborhood and
extending our
commitment to
GreenPath outside the
arena walls.
Boston Strong...A City and Team United
A pril was poised to be
an already
challenging month, before
tragedy struck in Boston on
Marathon Monday. The
impact of that day rippled
throughout the city and
beyond and could be felt in
the weeks that followed. It is
a time we will never forget,
hopefully not because of the
images of terror, but because
of the actions of heroes, the
stories of a city coming
together, and the personal
feelings of pride in this city, in
this organization, and of this
team.
Enough praise cannot be
given to the Boston Bruins,
MA SportService, and TD
Garden team. Action plans
were quickly put into place to
ensure the safety of our
guests and our associates. To
Jim Mayall and his entire
Security Department, thank
you. Operations and the Box
Office, seamlessly handled
the rescheduling of two
Bruins games and the
cancellation of a Celtics
game. Each and every
department rose to the
occasion, assisting in anyway
possible, and making a very
difficult week, one of
teamwork, accountability,
and successful execution.
Once logistics were taken
care of, our Marketing Team,
led by Jen Compton and Chris
DiPierro, delivered an
emotional tribute to the
Boston Marathon, the heroes
of April 15, the victims, and
first responders with an
amazing video and moving
National Anthem for Boston's
first pro sports game
following Patriot's Day.
Videos from the game
presentation went viral and
gained national recognition
from the Today Show, Ellen
DeGeneres, SportsCenter,
and People and Time
Magazine, to name a few.
After the team pulled
together the truly amazing
presentation on April 17, they
did it again following the
events of Friday, April 26, for
a moving Boston Bruins'
"Shirts Off Our Back"
presentation to Boston's first
responders in the week's
events.
The last days of April did
not quickly lend itself to
"normal" operations with the
very rare Celtics game and
then Bruins game back to
back, with a parquet to ice
changeover. The TD Garden
Bullgang, not surprisingly,
delivered. Not only was there
a seamless transition, but
the team also beat the
current building's record, with
a changeover of 2 hours and
3 minutes!
Many thanks go out to
everyone here for an
awesome display of
teamwork and dedication.
We truly are Boston Strong.

TD GARDEN UNVEILS POW/MIA ‘CHAIR OF HONOR’
On Thursday, April 11, the TD Garden unveiled a ‘Chair of Honor’, a seat dedicated to the soldiers of the U.S. Armed Forces
who are POW/MIA. The black seat, emblazoned with the POW/MIA logo, will remain permanently unoccupied as a remem-
brance of the more than 92,000 military personnel who are prisoners of war, missing in action or unaccounted for since
World War I. The Boston Bruins are hosted Military Appreciation Night and the seat dedication took place prior to the game.
Amy Latimer, TD Garden President, and Cam Neely, Boston Bruins President, joined Joe D’Entremont, President of the MA
Chapter of Rolling Thunder and Maureen Dunn of Randolph, MA for the official dedication. Maureen’s husband, Commander
Joe Dunn of the U.S. Navy, was shot down over the South China Sea on February 14, 1968 during the Vietnam War and is
MIA. Maureen and her family have dedicated themselves to the POW/MIA movement. Her son, Joe Jr., and grandson, Joe III
were also in attendance.
“The TD Garden is proud to dedicate this ‘Chair of Honor’ to continue to raise awareness for and honor the many soldiers who
are POW/MIA,” said Amy Latimer, President of TD Garden. “Both the Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics organizations share
our commitment to support our armed forces.”
TD Garden is the first NHL/NBA arena to dedicate a ‘Chair of Honor’ to U.S.
Armed Forces who are POW/MIA. Joe D’Entremont leads the MA Chapter of
Rolling Thunder, a group whose goal is to publicize and educate the public on
the POW/MIA issue. They have organized a campaign to dedicate a ‘Chair of
Honor’
“On behalf of all our nation's POW/MIA families, and especially those
we represent with loved ones still missing from the Vietnam War,
please accept our sincere appreciation for recognizing the need to
obtain the fullest possible accounting for those who serve our nation
and become missing or captured.”
- Ann Mills-Griffiths, Chairman of the Board of the National League of
POW/MIA Families

“Because We Couldn't Give You The Chief
Award”
The John P. Bucyk “The Chief” award is given annually to the Bruins player
with the greatest off-ice charitable contributions. During the Bruins/Senators
game on April 28th, Gregory Campbell was selected for the John P. Bucyk
award, chosen by John Bucyk. Gregory Campbell has been an active
participant in the Boston Bruins off-ice charitable events in this years
condensed NHL season. Campbell has spent many of his rare off days making
community visits throughout the Greater Boston area, including visits to the
Charlestown Boys & Girls Club, Home for Little Wanderers and was a one of
the team’s participants in their annual “Cuts for a Cause” event.
In addition to “The Chief” award, we wanted to present a specially created
award, appropriately titled “Because We Couldn’t Give You The Chief Award” to
Matt Falconer, Assistant Equipment Manager. Falconer was selected for this
award for his numerous charitable contributions throughout the year.
