ATHLETIC TRAINING AT A GLANCE
CAATE ACCREDITATION STATUS
In addition to a master’s degree, Athletic Trainers must be certified and licensed in the state where they practice.
UW-Green Bay is currently seeking accreditation for their new Athletic Training program and is not accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). The institution will be submitting a self-study to begin the accreditation process on July 1, 2020. Submission of the self-study and completion of a site visit does not guarantee that the program will become accredited. Students that graduate from the program prior to accreditation will not be eligible to sit for the credentialing examination for athletic trainers and will not be eligible for licensure in most states.
Please contact Assistant Prof. and Program Director William Gear if you have questions regarding the Master of Athletic Training accreditation status. Email: [email protected] | Phone: 920-465-2266

ATHLETIC TRAINING
A PASSION FOR GETTING PEOPLE BACK TO THEIRS
Life moves quickly. Keeping patients active, moving and pursuing their life passions in sports, dance, law enforcement, the military and more are at the heart of a career in Athletic Training.
Athletic trainers are highly qualified, multi-skilled healthcare professionals who collaborate with and work under the direction of physicians on patient care. As an athletic trainer, you’ll work in a variety of settings, providing care for athletes and non-athletes alike, all while being driven by a singular goal: getting people healthy and back to pursuing their dreams and living their best, most active lives. Often, athletic trainers are the first responders when an injury occurs, providing critical medical and emotional support for athletes and other high performers.
