A warm welcome back to everyone in the Bowraville Central School community – I look forward to another great term of collaboration and learning.
Term 4 of course commences with the Higher School Certificate. We wish all Year 12 2014 the very best as they commence this final phase of their formal education. Simply getting this far in their schooling is something to be proud of but we do look forward to each fine young man and woman concluding their final examination with the sense of achievement that only comes when there is a sense that every effort has been expended. I genuinely believe that the whole school community is proud of each and every one of you already, and we look forward to learning of your final results.
It was another proud moment for me last Saturday seeing the great effort and commitment so many of our students and staff displayed supporting Pro Ag at Macksville (10-11 Oct). A great deal of time and coordination was required to ensure the success of the school’s exhibit and ‘Farm Zoo’. Sincere thanks to Mrs Argent and the whole team.
Coming up, on the evening of Thursday 30th October, I look forward to meeting once again with our supportive P&C. As this meeting will coincide with the next School Social it will be another great opportunity for more parents to perhaps join us in collaborating to further improve our great school.
Have a great week.

Year 9 Work Experience
All Year 9 students completed a week of work experience on the last week of last term. The students went to a variety of workplaces to learn about careers in fields like Hospitality, Retail, Physiotherapy, Broadcas ng and Construc on to name a few. The feedback from many of the employers was fantas c with all students being praised for their enthusiasm, punctuality and work ethic. This is a great way for students to find out about the requirements for different careers and helps them to start to recognise and develop their own skills.

2NVR loves to party! 2NVR 105.9fm, Nambucca Valley Radio, is at it again, planning the monthly live gig, known as ‘Studio 3 Live’. This is an opportunity to enjoy, up close and personal, some wonderful live local talent, and this me 2NVR will welcome Kym Pitman. With pure and haun ng voice, Kym’s songs tell stories of Australia’s expansive landscapes and evoke a deep sense of ecological connec on. Kym has a special place amongst Australian singer songwriters. Her unique and gently commanding fusion of lyric, voice and musical imagery inspires an enlivened sense of presence and emo onal recogni on of human experience and wild landscape. Born in South Australia, Kym’s youth was spent exploring South Australia’s semi‐arid landscapes and her music has always been close to the land. She began performing as a singer songwriter in Adelaide’s Music bars and Cafes as a teenager in the early 80’s. Later moving to Bellingen, she has recorded three albums and performed extensively on Australia’s fes val circuit. Kym has won awards for her songs through the Australasian song wri ng awards and North Coast Industry awards. As a mul instrumentalist, playing guitar, fiddle, viola and banjo, Kym’s enchan ng performances are a poignant journey rambling evoca vely between coast, desert, gorge and tableland. She inspires hope and leaves her audiences moved and upli ed. See Kym at 2NVR, 834, Rodeo Drive, Tewinga on Friday October 17, 6‐8pm. This is a family friendly, free event, everyone is welcome. You can also listen live on 105.9fm or stream via www.2nvr.org.au. Studio phone 65 647922.
