On Wednesday , January 10, Mrs. Friedman together with the two children, will be leaving Tel Aviv for New York, for 8 short visit .
They are scheduled to fly via TWA 841 which departs Lod Airport at 7:45 a . m.
Rabbi Friedman will drive them to the airport and have them there by 6 : 45 a . m. It would be greatl y appreciated if you could bave one of your airport staff available to meet them at the airpprt in order to asist them through the formalities.

I thought I would have an opportu.ni; y to speak 1>11 th you for a few minutes at the airpor t, and tell you what has, and is bothering .me these past few weeks, but unfortunate~ there was too much excitment, too many people around - or rather I lacked the courage . Anyway I shall try to do lIlY' speaking - in writing, which is definitely not easy, 'but I do hope you will be able to understand me.
The week I w'Or ked together with you J r believe -was the first real opportunity of working hand- in- hand and next to you, which gave me great pleasure and more so , had the chance to see, from close range J
the way you manipulate your work in such a swift and efficient way.
I felt that I too had a par~ in helping in the most ingenious idea of yours, and its success of receiving such an important :Mission to Israel - as the guests o~ tbe Prime Minister . While you had to conduct this tremendous event through the back door - behind the scenes - and others ran your show.
I was extremely hurt and terribly let down, when several ~eks ago y~ decided to nominat.e Zelig Cbinitz as your liaison officer io respect of thi 5 great idea of the Mission and Conference.
The belief was that this Conferenc., would be a different kind with different approaches as well as different methods in handling it, etc ~ My one week working \d tb you proved it wrong .
Zelig Chinitz is a very dear mao. and friend of yours and mine . Needless to say, he did an excellent job , but I hope you will understand me and the way I feel about this matter . Here I have been working bard for so many years to stri va to reach a certain pasi tion, a certain status , and loi'hen a marvelous opportunity- arises in fulfilling and being a :p<.l.rt of an important miSSion , the head of your own Organization by- passes his own representative and the "koved" is handed. over to someone else. I really cannot understand it.

By nominating Zelig Chinitz for this specific task, and having him handling the duties I usually perform, such as meeting with Ministry officials, El- Al people, tIl'my, etc ., put me in an akward position . I don ' t know how to express m;yself, but I have no doubt you understand me, it waS like playing second fiddle in your own sphere of work, which you have been dOing for so long . Anyl>.ay the real work began the day you arrived, and the help I gave you, but the damage waS done.
I feel tIUch better now that I have taken this off my chest, and sincerely hope you will understand me, as you always do, and be able to clarify this matter that is concerning and bothering me so nueh .
