What is Box.net?

A powerful (and safe) online tool that users can use to create, collaborate, and distribute documents.

In an increasingly paperless world, Box.net solves the problem of how-to share information safely and efficiently.

There are two ways you’ll encounter box.net on my website: through the widget and through the documents and handouts page.

On the right hand side of the website, you’ll see a box.net widget.

Inside, you’ll see some familiar looking folder icons. These icons work just like the ones you see on your computer.

So, click on the appropriate folder to open it.

Docs. & Handouts Page

On the documents and handouts page, you will find a list of all the – surprise – documents and handouts for the course.

The page will be updated throughout the semester to reflect what you need.

For example, you can see how the reading and assignment schedule changed last semester do to snow days.

next to it that list file types.

If you want a document that you can open with Word, then click on the word file extension: .doc.

If you want a file that you can open with Adobe Reader, then click on the .pdf extension.

You can see that there is an Excel file listed as well (.xls).
