Whiting Refinery Modernization Project

• Construction began in 2007 / Completed 2013• Construction of four new major units while the refinery was operating• Take advantage of new sources of Canadian Crude from Alberta Province• During construction, 10,000 skilled workers logged over 40 million hours

(26months without a lost time injury requiring a day away from work)

• 1,200 pieces of major equipment constructed and imported to NW IN from the Gulf Coast and overseas• 1,700 miles of cable and wire, 380 miles of pipe, 150,000 cubic yards of

concrete 52,000 tons of steel & 20,000 crane lifts
