Sally - untangling those hiring challenges Sally Beauty has grown from one small store in 1964 in New Orleans into the world’s largest distributor of professional hair and beauty products, with over 4,000 stores worldwide. In the UK and Ireland they have over 250 stores. Sally Beauty are known for their professional approach, to drive their rapid growth they have a need for professional, talented individuals. Sally’s traditional recruitment approach had been to use multiple suppliers, which brought inefficiencies through differing approaches, processes and rates. Their requirement was to have one recruitment supplier who could provide a consistent service. The first assignment was for multiple Marketing candidates who had experience in the hair and beauty industry. BPS managed to fulfil this brief, researching the industry to find the top candidates working for Sallys’ competitors, presenting Sally as an employer of choice to entice these candidates to make the move to Sally. After this successful assignment, BPS successfully resourced across a range of sectors – including Marketing, Administration, Customer Service, Finance, and Web Design. To enable BPS to deliver the right person every time, they build up a pipeline of readily available candidates with retail experience, this allows BPS to be agile enough to respond to Sallys’ requirements immediately. Additionally BPS visits every HR Department to understand Sallys’ current resourcing requirements, and more importantly their future resourcing requirements. This partnership has been very successful, with a 95% fill rate and a significant reduction in time to hire.
