Supply Chain Vertical Integration

• Adaro Indonesia (AI) produced 52.3 Mt

in 2013 from a single Coal Cooperation

Agreement (CCA) area in S Kalimantan.

• 921 Mt of Reserves and 4.7 Bt of

Resources in S Kalimantan.

• Saptaindra Sejati (SIS) provides ~35% of

AI mining and overburden removal.

Coal Mining

• 80km private paved haul road using

chipseal, which improves the operational

efficiency.

• More than 350 units of 130 tonnes

capacity truck trailers in operation.

Supply Chain Vertical Integration

At Kelanis river terminal:

•Expanding to reach 70 Mt

coal-handling capacity per year.

•450,000 tonne stockpile + 80,000 tonnes

ROM capacity.

•2 barge loading jetties with a loading

rate of 5,000 tonnes/hr each.

Coal Processing & Barge Loading Barging

• Supported by our subsidiary,

PT Maritim Barito Perkasa (MBP).

• 55 sets of tugs and barges used by

Adaro with an average capacity of

11,750dwt, including three sets of

18,000dwt units.

Shiploading and Port

Supply Chain Vertical Integration

• Offshore loading at Taboneo: capacity

up to 165,000 tonnes/day: floating

cranes (15,000-20,000t/day), FTU

(60,000t/day) and self-loading geared

vessels.

• IBT port and fuel terminal JV with

Shell: coal loading capacity 12 Mt/year,

fuel storage capacity 60,000 kiloliters.

• Sarana Daya Mandiri (SDM), dredged

the river channel in 2008, increasing

capacity to 200 Mt per year and now

manages and maintains the channel.

• Adaro owns 51.2% of SDM with the local

port authority and local government

owning the remaining interest.

IBT Operations

Inloading / Discharge of coal

– 2 barge wharfs each having an installed

discharging capacity of 1,500 tph

– Each discharging line is equipped with

magnetic separators and metal detector

system

– Mechanical sampling units installed at

each discharging line

IBT Operations

Stockpile • 8 stockpiles each capable of storing a panamax size shipment

of max. 80,000 MT

• Stockpile space offers the ability to segregate different types of

coals for blending, either through stockpile recirculation or

during loading

• 5 units of D10 bulldozers for stockpile management and for

loading of coal

Page 9: Bram Surjadi, PT Indonesia Bulk Terminal - member of Adaro Energy TBK - Kalimantan Port Efficient Operations

IBT Operations

Outloading / Loading of coal to vessel

• Utilizing 2 fixed luffing slewing ship loaders at an installed capacity of 3,000 tph

• Magnetic separator and metal detector system equipped to ensure cleanliness of

cargo delivered

• Automatic samplers equipped to ensure

sampling of coal quality is performed correctly

based on buyer’s standard requirements

What are Customers’ Needs and

Requirements

– Range of small to medium scale mines:

• various types of coal and

• producing smaller quantities not sufficient for

vessels’ tonnages

– Constraints at the Barito river:

• Upstream Barito river is dependent on rainfall

at which during the dry season, parts of river

dries up (3 to 4 months)

• Shallow draft allowance of max. 3,500 MT

barges during navigable periods

• Stockpile space requirement to consolidate cargo

• Space allocation to allow the storage of various types of coal

• Sufficient stockpile allocation period

• Challenges in the supply of coal from South and Central Kalimantan:

Advantages of Delivering Through IBT

• Peace of mind operations in consolidating cargo

• Ease in scheduling of barges and vessel laycan nomination

• Fast loading

• Ability to blend different qualities of coal

• Delivering clean cargos, free from metal contaminants

• Reliable sampling method with use of mechanical samplers to comfort end

buyers on the quality of coal delivered

• Certainty for end buyers knowing the coal is 100% ready on stockpile for

loading. No delays in terms of waiting cargo shall be allowed
