brand OverviewOur brand consists of key identity elements that, when used consistently at every point of contact with our

customers, help build recognition of the Windsor Windows & Doors brand. The purpose of these standards is to

clearly define the look and feel of the Windsor identity and to establish parameters for acceptable use and application. The value

of strong brand equity is priceless. How we apply our identity elements to communications, collateral and promotional items sets

us apart from the competition and influences how we are perceived by those who come in contact with us. Creating materials

that support the Windsor brand requires solid commitment and watchfulness to guarantee that the image we present to the

public looks the same every time.

Logo OverviewTwo orientations of the Windsor Windows & Doors logo, designated as horizontal and vertical, are available for use

as outlined below. Please note: The versions of the Windsor logos utilizing the “Excellent Choice” tagline are now outdated.

Please discontinue any and all usage of these versions, using onlY the general horizontal or vertical options shown below.

• Horizontal – This orientation should be used primarily

for print applications and on apparel/promotional items

when space does not allow for use of the vertical logo.

• Vertical – This orientation should be considered

the primary logo on apparel and promotional items

when space allows.

The Windsor Windows & Doors logo must appear on all communications and be used in compliance with the standards shown

in these guidelines. Do not distort or change the logo in any way by moving, adding or removing elements, or by extending or

condensing. Do not re-set the type in the logo or change the positioning or size relationship of any portion of the logo.

Logo UsageExamples on Colored BackgroundsWhen utilizing the proper logo on a colored background or over a photo, take measure to ensure you have achieved sufficient

contrast and readability. The examples shown below illustrate the proper use of the logo when colored backgrounds are utilized.

Please note: The outer edge of the mane and face of the lion should alwaYs be shown in white regardless of the

background color.

incorrect Logo Usage1. The Windsor logos with the “excellent Choice” tagline are no

longer being used. Discontinue any and all usage of these versions.

2. The logo must always appear complete with “A Woodgrain Millwork

Company” beneath it, except on embroidered items when

“A Woodgrain Millwork Company” is too small to be stitched.*

3. The outer edge of the mane and face of the lion should always

be shown in white regardless of the background color.

4. The logo must only appear in the approved color schemes.

5. The font and positioning for “A Woodgrain Millwork

Company” underneath the logo may not be altered.

Do not re-set any type in the logo, or change the

positioning or size relationship of the logo.

6. Logo elements may not be distorted or altered in

any way by moving, adding or removing elements,

or by extending or condensing.

7. Maintain the minimum clear space around the logo.

Logo size & Clear space To ensure the Windsor logo is quickly and easily identified, it is important to adhere to the minimum size requirements

and keep the logo area clear of distracting visual elements such as type, illustration or photography. When the logo overprints a

photograph or color, make sure the contrast of the logo against the background is great enough to be read clearly.

Headlines

Helvetica Neue Ultra Light should be used for headlines.

Since it is a light and airy font, it should be used at

a large enough size that is easily legible for readers.

This font can also be used slightly smaller for subheads,

if legibility is maintained.

Body Copy

Helvetica Neue Light Condensed should be used for

body copy. To highlight an intro line of a paragraph,

Boton Medium or Bold can be used to draw the reader

in. Boton may also be used for subheads. In general,

a range of 9 to 11 point type is recommended for body

copy on all page format documents. Smaller or larger

type sizes should be reserved for special uses such

as footnotes, captions, charts and display signage.

Letterspacing

Letters should be spaced to provide maximum ease of

readability. They should never be so tight that they crowd

one another or so loose that words become difficult to

read. Loose letterspacing is permitted on a case-by-case

basis and is to be used sparingly only to enhance the

professional, sophisticated image.

Text Leading

Leading is the distance between lines of type. A minimum

of two points of leading between lines of body copy is

recommended for ease of readability. For an enhanced

level of sophistication, additional leading creates a light,

airy feel.

a cohesive and fresh look to all communication materials. If you are working on a PC and Helvetica Neue is unavailable,

Verdana is the acceptable substitute. If Boton is unavailable, Georgia is the acceptable substitute.

photographyPhotography plays a key role in our brand. Showcasing projects that feature our products in high-quality photography

is an important way of communicating non-verbally with our customers. When selecting photography, Windsor focuses on

home-related imagery that highlights our products. Rarely is there a need for stock photography or for images including people.

We want our imagery to be sleek, high-end and to inspire viewers to imagine using Windsor’s products in their future projects.

when deciding which photos to use, ask yourself:

Does the image highlight Windsor’s featured product?

Is the image full-color and free of any treatments?

(i.e., duotones, posterization, unnatural depth of field)

Are there any unnecessary objects in the photo?

(i.e., people, vehicles in the driveway, toys, pets, garbage)

Does the image feel high-end and staged properly?

Do we have the rights to the photo?

Is the image high-resolution enough?

If you are unsure about any of these answers, please do not hesitate to reach out for assistance. We can review your photo for

quality and resolution, and if we deem it unsuitable to fit our brand, we’ll suggest something different. In addition, we offer a large

Promo & Apparel ItemsThe value of strong brand equity is priceless. Even the way our brand is reflected on promotional and apparel items is crucial.

When designing new promotional or apparel items, it’s important to keep a few questions in mind:

Does this product highlight Windsor in a positive light?

Have I reviewed the minimum size requirements for use

of the Windsor logo?

Am I using the correct version of the logo? (i.e., does the

chosen logo offer enough contrast against the background

color? If embroidering, do you need to use a special usage

logo without “A Woodgrain Millwork Company” for readability?)

Embroidered ItemsThe pullover and backpack show the Vertical Reversed Blue logo with the text and

outline around the lion embroidered in white and the mane, face and background

behind the lion sewn in blue. AlwAys use a reversed logo option on dark apparel

items to ensure readability.

REMINDER: When the type in “A Woodgrain Millwork Company” is too small

to be stitched, one of the designated “special usage” logos should be used.

The logos below are approved for embroidery.

Promotional ItemsThe black mug is shown using the Vertical Reversed Blue logo (this option would

print as two colors). The white mug is shown using the Vertical Blue logo (this option

would print as one color). The pen illustrates an example of using the Horizontal

Reversed Blue logo. The imprint space available is more accommodating to use the

horizontal orientation of the logo; thus, preserving the visual integrity of the logo.
