Construction and mode of operationSONDEX brazed plate heat exchanger consists of:A number of thin, acid-resistant plates, precisionstamped and assembled as a unit, each alternateplate being rotated 180º.

The plate pack, assembled with two end plates andconnections, is vacuum brazed at extremely hightemperatures providing a permanently sealed heatexchanger. The final result is a strong and compactplate heat exchanger with extremely high heat trans-missions. The high heat transmission comes fromthe main pattern which is designed to create a tur-bulence flow.

Low Purchase PriceHigh technical efficiency combined with thin platematerial and low production costs keeps theSONDEX sales price of the brazed plate heatexchanger at an extremely competitive level.

High Temperature and PressureContrary to the traditional plate heat exchanger thebrazed plate heat exchanger does not contain rub-ber gaskets and can thus operate continuously attemperatures from minus 180°C up to plus 200°C. The operating pressure can be as high as 30 bar.

Small VolumesThe high efficiency of the brazed plate heat exchan-ger makes the product volume in the heat exchan-ger minimal compared to for example tube heatexchangers reducing the volume of refrigerant to aminimum.

Self CleaningThe high turbulence on the plates prevents or mini-mizes blockages in the heat exchanger.

Compact SizeSondex brazed plate heat exchanger gives a space-and weight-saving of up to 80% compared with atube heat exchanger.

ApplicationSONDEX brazed plate heat exchanger can be utili-zed for heating and cooling of clean liquids.Furthermore, the SONDEX brazed plate heatexchangers are suitable as evaporator and conden-ser units.
