breaking through to the future

Throughout our trajectory over the years, we have become a reference com-pany in our sector, both in underground civil works and mining. As part of our development, we have expanded our main activi-ty to other markets such as hydraulic works, renewable energies, and recently with the acquisi-tion of new machinery and personnel we have incorporated a Geotechni-cal division that includes slope stabilisation, special foundations and consoli-dation injections.

We currently have a wide and complete range of customised solutions avai-lable to our clients, always under the premises of professionalism, proximity, quality and safety. For this we have the highest clas-sifications as a building contractor. This background allows us to compete in international markets and we currently have a permanent delega-tion in Portugal since 2015.

Underground Civil Works

business areas

Our proven experience and large fleet of machinery allows us to tackle any type of underground works project, providing technical solutions from the design and

calculation phase to the execution of the smallest details, thus provi-ding a customised solution with the "turnkey" concept for each client.

Drilling and SurfaceBlasting

Our technical team has extensive experience in the design and execution of special blasting with particular risks: HV and LV power lines, urban environments, elements of architectural interest, communication routes and industrial facilities. We design each blasting operation in accordance with the environment, reducing all risks inherent to the activity as much as possi-ble.Our Technical Office pays special attention to the execution of prior vibration studies in accor-dance with ISO standard UNE 2822-381-91, "Control of vibrations produced by blasting".

Mining

We firmly believe that the future of both underground and open-cast mining is in full evolution and with the advance in new technologies the demand for mineral resources is clearly increasing.LURPELAN wants to be at the forefront in this field with the highest technology, that is why, from the execution of access galleries, the excavation of chambers for the extraction of mineral, and the exploitation of mines and quarries, to the reco-very and enhancement of mining areas, LURPELAN has put all its technical potential at the service of the client. The work carried out by Lurpelan in the mining pro-jects in which it has participated increases a new business area full of challenges and opportuni-ties.

Hydraulic andrenewable works

With the aim of responding to the requi-rements of our clients, and backed by our extensive experience in underground works, for several years we have been tackling various works in important hydraulic works. One of the largest hydroelectric projects in Europe in the last 25 years is the Támega hydroelectric complex in the north of Portugal where LURPELAN has collaborated intensively from the begin-ning. This great challenge has opened the doors to other projects both in the execu-tion of hydraulic dams and in their main-tenance.

With the acquisition at the beginning of 2021 of the new Geo-technical division, LURPELAN has managed to combine the underground and outdoor markets under a single brand, thus providing itself with a business structure capable of respon-ding to all types of projects. The versatility and compatibility of its machinery after the acquisition has led to an increase in response capacity that allows LURPELAN to be at the fore-front of the execution of all types of works. The Geotechnical division currently covers: • Micropile walls• Slope support anchorage• Soil nailing• Sheet piles• Triple torsion mesh• Flexible mesh and anchored cable net• Horizontal drains in all types of land and retaining walls• Pressure injection for land consolidation, underpinning and waterproofing• Shotcrete: protection, stabilization and/or waterproofing on a slope or wall and even for aesthetic reasons.• Static and dynamic screens

A department within the Geotechnical divi-sion that is undergoing great development in the new structure of LURPELAN is special foundations and treatment and consolidation injections. LURPELAN is committed to the development of this field, providing specific and customised solutions for each client. The main activities within this field are currently focused on:

• Micropiles: special foundation or underpin-ning for buildings or structures• Injections: land consolidation to be able to lay foundations
