    The Hi-resolutionThread Gauge:Is used in the same way as theCombi Gauge, but with 0.1mmor .005 resolution per division fordepth. Also equipped with alocking device that allows themeasuring sleeve to be lockedat the depth reading, or at a preset depth. The placement ofthe thread hole to be measuredis not always directly visible tothe controller and the reading ofthe scale is therefor difficult.The locking device on the Hi-resThread Gauge makes it possibleto read the scale after the mea-surement has been taken.

    The Combi ThreadGauge:To control the thread tolerance,the Leitech Combi ThreadGauge is used in the same wayas any normal double-endedthread gauge.As the GO side is inserted intothe thread hole, the telescopingmeasuring sleeve retreats intothe aluminum body, providingthe user with an accurate depthreading of 0.5mm or .025" reso-lution per division.The NOT GO side is used in aconventional manner.

    5 advantages of theLeitech insertThe same insert is used in all our thread gauges.

    Quick and easy replacement of aworn out insert.

    The inserts are hardened andtempered to 62+/- 1HRc.

    Our inserts are up to 100% lon-ger, which gives a maximumwearability and the longest life atno extra cost. The control of pitch errors is also optimised.

    All Leitech Gauges with a pitchdiameter larger than 0,8 mmhave the crest of the first fullthread on Go according toFederal Standard H28/6. Thismeans that the distance fromthe thread member from face tothe crest of the first full thread is0,5 pitch with a tolerance of 0,06pitch.This provides the user with anaccurate depth reading, which isnot possible without this. Theuse of traditional thread gaugeswill often provide the user with awrong measuring of the depth.

    Technical infoIt is Leitechs objective to giveour customers a maximum wea-rability on all our inserts.Therefor our production alwaysaims at the higher level of the tolerance area.To ensure this objective, our pro-duction usesReishauser thread machines at20°C ±0,5.The Quality Section also worksby 20°C ±0,5.

    Instead of investing in a newcomplete gauge every time agauge is worn out, the inserts onthe Leitech gauge are of a spe-cial taperlock design, which canbe easily replaced with a remo-val sleeve tool that can be deli-vered from Leitech.

    A new gauge in approx. 2 min.!Instead of investing in a new complete gauge every time a gauge isworn out, the Leitech advantage is that you merely replace theGO/NOT GO insert.

    Exchanging the insertsand calibration

    Slide the Member RemovalSleeve over the gauge memberto be replaced (Green/Go &Red/Not Go).

    Thread the nut on to the gaugemember.

    Tighten the nut against theMember Removal Sleeve.

    Wrench the gauge member fromthe handle.

    Insert the new gauge member.Tap against a soft surface toseat the gauge member into thehandle.

    Loosen the two locking screwson the handle with an Allenwrench.

    Dial the pitch on the CalibrationMaster. Place the Go end of thegauge into the appropriate sizehole. Grasp and turn the Not Gomember and line up the CombiGauge measuring scale at the.400" (inch) or 10mm (metric)line.

    Re-tighten the locking screwsfinger-tight. The Combi Gauge isnow set at the correct calibrationlength (X) for accurate functionalthread depth measurement.

    Follow points 1-8.At point 5 the GO insert is fittedinto position with the use of aplastic hammer.

    It is so simple - a new gauge - quickly and inexpensively.

    Certificate of calibration All Leitech gauges can be sup-plied with a certificate of cali-bration for a nominal charge.On the certificate the measuringresults reached for each threadmember are stated, as well astolerance limits for the standardand tolerance class employed.The thread member is markedwith a serial number, shown inthe certificate. A gauge with aGo and Not Go end will needcertificates for each member.

    A & B CertificateA certificate of calibration provi-des the measured values for thethread member major diameter,pitch diameter, flank angle,minor diameter and pitch. B certificate of conformance sta-tes only the measured pitch dia-meter.

    CALIBRATION OF THE DIGI GAUGECalibration is made by the included adjusting piece. Beware that the adjusting piece is marked with the pitch equivalent to the threaded insert mounted in the gauge.

    Switch on the DIGI Gauge and set measurement for mm or inches. Then hold the adjusting piece firmly against the end face of the “go” insert and the contact face of the measuring sleeve. Briefly press the button marked “set”. The digi gauge is now correctly calibrated to zero.
