Bridgeport Sound Tigers: Media NotesTEAM NOTES:

Crunching the Tigers: Jonathan Marchessault has five points in just four games this season against the Sound Tigers, leading all players. However, he has yet to register a goal against Bridgeport.

He Knows the Bank: One of the newest members of the Syracuse Crunch, Matthew Peca, played his college hockey at Quinnipiac University down the road in Hamden. Peca and the Bobcats played at Webster Bank Arena last season during the NCAA East Regional.

New Goalies: Just a week after signing goaltender C.J. Motte to an AHL contract, Stephon Williams signed an ATO with the Sound Tigers on Thursday while also signing an entry-level contract with the Islanders. Williams and Motte both hail from the WCHA of the NCAA, with Motte playing at Ferris State University and Williams at Minnesota State University-Mankato.

Home Ice Disadvantage: The Sound Tigers have allowed more goals at home (110) than any other team in the American Hockey League despite playing just 33 games at Webster Bank Arena.

First is Worst: The Sound Tigers lost 2-1 on Wednesday despite scoring the first goal of the game. The team is 18-14-2-0 this season when scoring first.

Fizzle Third: After winning its first 15 games when leading after two periods, Bridgeport has lost three of its last six games with a lead after 40 minutes. Two of those losses came to the Springfield Falcons.

Need a PPG: The Sound Tigers relied heavily on the power play early in the season, but the team still struggles when not getting a power play goal. After going 0-for-3 on Wednesday, the team fell to 6-19-3-1 when not re-cording a man advantage tally.

Weekday Isn’t Our Thing: Bridgeport is now 1-4 during weekday games after the loss on Wednesday, with the lone win coming back on November 5 during its first school game against the Norfolk Admirals.

Score to Win: The Sound Tigers lost just their third game when allowing two or fewer goals in a contest on Wednesday with the 2-1 loss. The team is 17-3-2-1 when allowing two or fewer this season.

Motte’s a Star: C.J. Motte has been named one of the three stars of the game in both of his professional starts, earning first star honors after allowing just one goal in his professional debut at Binghamton and the third star on Wednesday after stopping 35 of 37 shots.

This Seems Familiar: Webster Bank Arena saw its first sellout for a Sound Tigers game since exactly one year ago against the same opponent. The Sound Tigers had 8,604 fans on April 1, 2014 against the Springfield Fal-cons for Spring Fun 102, then had 8,586 fans on Wednesday morning.

Shootout Luck: The Sound Tigers are 3-0 when their opponent scores first in the shootout, but 0-1 when they score first. Bridgeport has not been in a shootout since Dec. 6 at Lehigh Valley.
