IntheBridgeProcess,Streetlifemakesuseofasix-stepplan:from

ideatorealization.ThediagramshowshowStreetlifecanassist

Shortdeliverytimesarepossible,average12-14weeksafter

approvalofthedrawingsbytheclient.Ourbridgesaredelivered

almostentirelyinprefabstate,sothatinstallationusuallyrequires

onlyoneday.Experiencehasindicatedthatthedeliverytime

dependsmoreonthedecision-makingprocessthanitdoesonthe

ThePoelzoneBridgeisaconceptbridgethatwasdevelopedduringamulti-design

assignmentforanaturezoneintheWestlandregion(NL).Streetlifecreatedabridge

aCorTenCrosslineBridgeatalocationontheoutskirtsofBruges

inBelgium,whereitblendsbeautifullywithitsnatural

surroundings.ThedesignandmanufacturingofCorTenstructures

isoneofStreetlife’sspecialties.Withinashortperiodofonlyeight

weeks,thebridgewasdesigned,engineered,manufacturedand

installed.

Duetoourexpertiseinmobilegreeneryandbridges,

theMunicipalityofHelmondcommissionedStreetlifetoredesign

the50-yearold‘DeKasteelTraverse’trafficviaduct.

Anasymmetricalprofilewascreatedontheexistinggroundlevel,

affordingmorespaceforpedestrians.Thelampposts,synthetic

treeplanters,BigArtBenchesandtheribbon-shapedfencingwere

installedin2010.Theprojectwasexecutedinpartnershipwith

theMunicipalityandtheSpanishurbanplannerJoanBusquets.

PartnerinEssen(DE)

Essen–representingtheRuhr–wastheEuropeanCapitalof

Culturein2010.Streetlifeconstructedfourbridgesinthe

UniviertelEsseninpartnershipwithScapeLandschaftsarchitekten

GmbH.Theselevelbridgesincorporatethree-dimensionallycurved

concreteabutmentsthatblendperfectlywiththeirzigzagfence.

Theentirestructurewasconstructedincompliancewith

DINstandards.Artdeck®gridswithochre-colouredrubbergranule

fillformanaestheticwholewiththepark’sgraphicandgeometric

design.

Streetlifedeliveredfourflatbridgeswiththree-dimensionallyshapedfenceabutmentsforthisnewparkinEssen(DE).Thepark,withwaterretention,

hasauniquegraphicandgeometricdesign.ThebridgeswerecompletelyengineeredanddeliveredincompliancewithDINstandards.

mounted, which slightly protrude the surface. These rubber ridges

enhance the anti-slip properties of the decking system. The rubber

material is hard and UV-stable.

Drip-proof Streetdeck®

In certain projects, the architect may wish to prevent the dripping

of rainwater as much as possible onto the functional space below:

for example, a car park. By integrating the integral rubber profiles

in combination with a shallow gradient, a drip-proof deck can be

realised. However, an occasional drop cannot be avoided with this

simple construction.
