Brief Industrial Profile of Surajpur District
1. General Characteristics of the District Surajpur is a city and a Nagar Palika in Surajpur district of Chhattisgarh state in central India. It is the
Administrative Head Quarter of the Surajpur District, located 256 km North from the State Capital Raipur.
National Highway 43 has its route through Surajpur. Surajpur was declared District on 15 August 2011 by
the State Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh along with 8 (Eight) other new district. Surajpur is Known for its
Market (Economical and Quality product)and other major Tourist places of Chhattisgarh with Tamor Pingla
Wild Life Sanctuary.
1.1 Location & Geographical Area.
Surajpur district is located at 23.22°N 82.85°E. It has an average elevation of 528 metres
(1,732 ft).
1.2 Topography
The climate of Balrampur is of extreme nature, i.e. very hot in the summers and biting
cold in the winters.
