Inter College Book Review Competiton Under the banner of Art and Intellect committee of SAWC, we have send two students for the Inter College Book Review Competition of Late President Abdul Kalam, "Wings of Fire" at SPB Commerce College on 14th August 2015. Both of them are girls and out of two one stoods to be second. She won the certificate and Prize. The detail of the student is as under. Thelesemia Test The thelesemia test was carried out for the Ist year Students on 11-12th August 2015. Student had enthusiastically participated in the said event and we can able to collect the blood sample of nearly 500 students.

SADBHAVANA DIVAS CELEBRATION
Sadbhavana Divas is celebrated on 20th August every year to promote national integration and communal harmony among the students. We celebrated the “Sadbhavana Divas “at TIFAC Seminar Hall at SCET in association with unit of National Service Scheme (NSS) of our college. Prof Himanshu Padhya (Vice Principal, SCET) addressed the ensemble of students who gathered in TIFAC Hall. Prof Padhya explained the significance of “Sadbhavana Divas “. The gathering took the oath in single voice which indeed fulfills the theme and objective of integrity. Dr Maulin Joshi (Dean Academic) also graced the occasion. Bookseller Samadhi and Pavthawala Mahek were masters of ceremony.

Science Fair
Report of Robo Race Event in Science Fair at T.N.T.V School
Robo Race is always the prime competition of the robotics and also among the engineering students. The aim of this event is to design a manually controlled ROBOT that has capacity to cover maximum distance in shortest possible time, challenging the hurdles and be one of the best opponents. To make aware of school students about this type of events and also about the concept of manually controlled robot, Chairman of SES and Principal of SCET add this event in the 2nd Science fair at T.N.T.V school organized by the Sarvajanik Education society dated 13 to 16 august 2015. The total responsibility of this event was given to Dr. Mayank Dalal (ASH Dept), Prof. Bhargav Shah and Prof. Pritesh Saxena of E&C department, SCET, Surat. Total 8 students from 3rd and 4th year of E&C department design the track of the robo race event. It takes almost 8 hours to design the track on 12th august, 2015.
Details of the events are as follow.
• Total arena area was 30 ft X 30 ft. • On 1st day i.e 13th august, the whole event was handled by the students of E&C department.
• On 2nd and 3rd day, some of the students of each school had hands on with the robot and they tried to cover the whole track in minimum time.
• On 4th day, the teachers of different school had hands on with the robot.

REPORT OF SEMINAR ON, “CAREER IN SCIENCE AT SES” IN SCIENCE FAIR
AT T.N.T.V SCHOOL
Current situation is like that the children’s who pass out from 10th standard have no vision where to go and in which science field they should make their career. Also it is seen that even the students who have opted science in 11th and 12th standard is not having good confidence that they will succeed and will further make their career in different field of Science. Considering that aspect SES Chairman has put faith in us and had given us a liberty to prepare one presentation on, “Career in Science at SES”. His vision is to cover all the Colleges of Science of SES and focus the entire different fields which one can opt within our SES campus and make their career. Prof. Niket Shastri of Physics dept and Dr. Mayank M Dalal, Dean SAWC has prepared the presentation with the help of different colleges of science of SES and further was presented in front of students and the parents who visits the Science Fair organized at T& T V Sarvajanik High School under the banner of Sarvajanik Education Society from 13th to 16th August 2015. This was further well co-ordinated by students of our college.
The same presentation run for all the four days in Room No: 31 of T & TV High School from 13th to 16th August 2015.

Brother Hood Day
On the occasion of the World Brotherhood day 11th sept 2015 on the commemoration of the lecture given by Swami Vivekananda at Chicago, one programme was arranged along with Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari Surat Branch at EC seminar hall at 2:00 PM.
Shri Narendrabhai Trivedi Pramukh Vivekananda Kendra, Gujarat was the speaker. He has highlighted the importance of World Brotherhood day and also enlightens the students and staffs by briefing some important part of the speech of Vivekananda which he had given at Chicago on the same day in 1893.

Engineers Day
On the occasion of the Engineers day 15th sept 2015, one programme was arranged to felicitate the SES Managing Committee Engineers and alumni who had worked for the benefit of the SCET since so many years wholeheartedly.
Er. V M Pargi, Special Commissioner of Police, Traffic & Crime was invited as a Chief Guest, Er. Ashit Gandhi, Vice President was the Guest of Honour. The programme was started at 3:00 PM at Tifac Seminar Hall.

It's a matter of great pleasure and pride that SCET performed wonderful in GTU Cross Country Tournament (B & G) which was organised at GCET, Vidhyanagar on 25-26/9/2015. We stood runners up in Boys event which was of 12.5 KM, while the girls event is of 6 Km. Our three students were selected in the same event and are going to Mangalore for All India Cross Country Tournament.

TIMES OF INDIA PUBLIC SPEAKING CONTEST
'Times Public Speaking Contest', organised every year by the pretentious media group The Times of India, is being organised this year too. I am extremely glad to share, that in the regional rounds yesterday, SCET students have performed very well. Mr Ronil D'Souza of Chemical Department stood first in the regional round and shall be going to A'bad on 05/10 for final rounds. Many colleges from SES participated, and almost all our students performed well. Mr Viraj Barfiwala from Architecture also stood third. These students have put our SCET name higher, at national level. They all deserve blessings, applause and encouragement

Its my immense pleasure to share that SCET won 4 ( four ) Trophies at GTU's 5th Inter-zonal Youth Festival At Rajkot. Yuva Unstoppable had launched, “Make Your Mother Smile” campaign in the month of September. They have received an overwhelming response in the form of letters more than 80000 in this initiative. The main purpose of this intiative is to spread the message of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s message of achieving happy nation by simply making your mother smile.
Mr. K S Leslin form IInd year Electronics story has been selected as one of the top stories for the same campaign and had received an award from Mr. Mahesh Bhatt, Salim Khan and Zafar Shareshwala at Mumbai on 15th October in Palladium Mall at 11:00 Am.

FRANDORE BLOGGER PRIZE 2015
This is to hereby inform you that Vishvaraj Chauhan, a third year, Chemical Engineering student of Sarvajanik College of Engineering & Technology, Surat has won the Frandore Blogger Prize 2015, which is an annual blog writing prize held in November every year. The prize is handed out by writer J. P. Rambling - a writer himself and the author of the novel 'A Different Class' - to honour the memory of his parents. Vishvaraj had been writing his blog since April 2015, and sorts out his posts into three categories - Musings, Rants and Specials. In his own words, he says his blog is "a mere collection of thoughts". The posts are a combination of philosophies and understandings. He writes once every month. The blog, named Halfway To Asphodel has seen unprecedented success which is an indication of the quality of the posts. It had amassed more than 1000 views by the end of 6 months, and currently has about 113 dedicated followers. Chauhan had entered his post for November 2015, 'An Ambiguous Balancing Act' into the 'All Else' category of the Frandore Prize 2015. The results of the competition were announced on 28 November 2015, and Cahuhan's post was deemed to be the winner in his category. He receives a Prize Amount of 100 USD.

SCET DANCE CLUB GARBA-DODHIYA WORKSHOP Dates: 26th, 27th, 28th October, 2015 Time: 4:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m With the objective of encouraging the artistic talent imbibed within the students and faculty members, a workshop was organized on GARBADODHIYA before SCET Garba night on 30th October 2015.
The response received from both staff and students was tremendous with a registration of more than 20 staff members and 40 students. The task of training students was assigned to Mr. Akash Modi of BE III (Elec. Evening), knowing his expertise in the field and a professional touch that he bears, along with the other student members of SCET DANCE CLUB. The students who were regular for all three days of workshop will be appreciated with certificates. Task of training staff members in 2 Tali garba, dodhiya of more than 7 types and adding grace and finesse to those who already knew was taken up by Dr. Rakhi Mehta and Prof. Niki Patel from SCET family. We had also invited Ms. Sanam Kapadia (Dance expert) from outside SCET to share her expertise in the area.
The staff as well as students benefited immensely from the workshop which was also reflected in the enthusiastic participation in SCET Garba Night.

VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK
The celebration of vigilance awareness week was car ried out between 26 th to 31 st October
2015 at Sarvajanik College of Engineering & Technol ogy in coordination with BSNL, LIC and
EPFO Offices.
As per the directive received from the AICTE, Central Vigilance Commission and Gujarat
Technological University, Gandhinagar, Sarvajanik College of Engineering & Technology Surat has
celebrated this week by organizing different functions on three consecutive day on 28th, 29th and 30
October 2015 between 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Following programmes were conducted on these days.
On 28th October 2015 a lecture was conducted by BSNL official on, “Corruption Free Nation” at
Chemical seminar room, Dept of Chemical Engineering. The student were highlighted the issues
regarding today’s scenario related to corruption and engrave the students how to fight with corruption.
Views of different students related to corruption were discussed in the same lecture. Nearly 50
students had participated in the said event.
On 29th October 2015 a session was conducted along with the officials of LIC of India at NJ Seminar
Hall. Elocution competition was organized on various topics in relation with vigilance awareness
week. Nearly 22 students had participated for the same. Students of SCET and Dr. S & S. S. Gandhi
Engineering College had taken part in the same. The LIC of India felicitate all participant with
momentous and provide 1st, 2nd & 3rd prize to students. The first cash prize Rs.5000/-won by
Mr.Mohit Raninga(IC 2nd year, SCET) and Second prize Rs.2500/- won by Ms.Pavitra thacker(Co(E)
2nd year, SCET) and Third prize Rs.1500/- was won by Mr.Makwana Umesh.(MED, S & S Gandhi
college).
On 30th October 2015, EPFO office, Surat had arranged a panel discussion on Corruption at
Electronics Engineering AV room, SCET. Total 8 students had participated in the panel discussion.
The EPFO offices had also provided certificates to all participants.
Overall nearly 300 Students were remained present in all 3 day programs from the SCET.

The same function was carried out under the banner of Student Activity Council and was handled by
Dr. Mahesh Trivedi, Assistant Professor, ASH Dept in guidance of Dr. Mayank M. Dalal, Dean SAWC.

NSS NO HONK CAMPAIGN
Our NSS team had initiated a campaign of, "Voice against Noise" since last one month and had released a sticker along with the financial partner Automotive who had prepared the stickers for us of, "NO HONK" . Students of NSS, SCET had activated this campaign and educated the people of Surat in large at different traffic controls. For same Surat Police Commissioner office had felicitated our NSS student for this activity during their Jaldi Su Che Campaign launch on Thursday 15th October. The felicitation was done by Vice Chancellor Shri. Dakshesh R Thakker and Shri S J Vagashiya, A.C.P. (Traffic) Varachha Sector -IV and were applauded in front of large mass at Sanjeev Kumar Auditorium. The snap of said event is attached herewith.

INTER ZONE GYMNASTIC TOURNAMENT
It's a matter of great pleasure and pride that SCET stood CHAMPION at INTER ZONE Gymnastic Tournament which was organised at GCET, Vidhyanagar on 16/10/2015. Student of IInd Year MCA Mr. Akshay Patel won Gold Medals in six different Artistic events (Roman Ring, Parallel Bar, Floor, Vault, High Bar, Pommel Horse) , and also our college won overall championship (Boys) in the said tournament.

SURAT ZONE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
It's a matter of great pleasure and pride that SCET performed wonderful in GTU Surat Zone Basketball Tournament (B) which was organised by SCET at Sir K P Commerce College, Surat on 8-9/10/2015. We stood Champion in same event. This is our fourth consecutive championship in same event.
Along with the same i also want to share that two students of our college were selected in GTU Volley ball team and are going for Bhopal on 15/10/2015 for All India West Zone Inter University Championship .

CLEANLINESS DRIVE OF SCET AT DUMAS BEACH ORGANISED BY SES
On the auspicious occasion of Republic day, 26th January 2016, Sarvajanik Education Society Office under the leadership of Chairman and Vice Chairman Sir had organized a Cleanliness drive at Dumas in coordination with every schools and colleges falling under its umbrella with the help of SMC, Surat.
Total 800 students were gathered during this cleanliness drive at 8:00 AM morning at Dumas. Out of these 800 students our college participation was credential; nearly 220 students were present out of total 229 students registered for this drive from our college. The registration from various dept was as follows CH-29, Civil-24, IT-15, IC-9, EC-29, El-11, CO-35, TP-9, MCA-14, NSS team-44.
The team of 800 was divided in to two half and they were allocated two sites at Dumas to undergo cleanliness drive. One site is opposite to the temple ahead of Langar itself leaded by SCET Architecture team and other site is opposite to the Peace Temple at the main beach leaded by the SCET Engg Team. The team of 400 is further divided in to the team of 10 students with one student and staff co-ordinator. They had undergone cleanliness drive at beach with great enthusiasm and zeal. Students had cooperated lot as they understand the importance of this drive. They had sincerely worked for nearly 2 hours and led whole beach clean. Students were given snacks.
Before that in early morning at 7;00 AM every students were gathered nearby textile gate and went on their bike in form of rally with the play card and banners in their hands, nearly 100 bikes went in the form of rally and reached Dumas at 7:45 Am morning.
Following staff members were involved in this drive and led the students to each and every point which was identified to clean.

KHEL MAHAKHUMBH & NATIONAL YOGA CHAMPIONSHIP
It's a matter of great pleasure and pride that SCET performed wonderful in Khel Mahakumbh 2015-16 which was organised by Gujarat Government and at 40th National Yoga Championship. . Our performance is mentioned below. Our students received Ist place in Yoga got Silver and Bronze medal in athletics event and got 2nd place in Chess and Ist place in 1500 mt and 2nd in 400 mt at Zone level. Also Patel Ajay of Electrical dept stood 2nd in National Yoga sports championship.

Also on 22nd Feb 2016, two international guests Victor Sjodin and Kimberly Moffatt from Los Angeles, California were in SCET for their mission of meeting 1,50,000 students across the India to promote veganism. They were in Surat for 2 days for awareness and education to colleges on a campaign called "Living Free", which covers a very detailed and authentic education and awareness on animal welfare and environment conservation by compassionate living. With this the team NSS at SCET also joined this foreign guests on 22nd February 2016 and helped them in distributing the pamphlets for awareness and education to colleges on a campaign called "Living Free" amongst the students of SCET. Both these event were carried out under the able guidance of the Prof. Niket Shastri, Co-ordinator, Prof. Satish Dokiparti, Co-Coordinator and team of NSS comprises of Prof. Dilip Patel, Prof. Amit Mehta and Prof. Karan Joshi.

RUNNERS UP IN SAINIK WELFARE FUND During last academic year 2014-15 we had made a collection of handsome amount in the Sainik welfare fund proposed by GTU under the banner of NSS. We can manage to collect Rs. 45,511/- from the students, faculties and other sources. GTU had informed every college to do the same. On the basis of the final record of the collection we stoods to be Second in the collection of the same fund after L D College of Engg.
