Briefing on the inspiration of my piece

I was inspired by many mainstream and underground directors all of which I thought brought something new and intriguing to the development of my own short film. Especially the young film maker Paul Bennet. His short films often are based of true stories, topics and themes, he generalises in the theme of Drama however I was strongly inspired in how his own pieces displayed a true sinister undertone without including any “horror clichés”. The shot types he would often use seemed quite unorthodox but suited the theme of his pieces much so. Most of his pieces seemed to be based off the theme of “Rough Neighbourhoods” and were often based on the youth.

The saturation and vibrancy in many of his shots were at low levels , this enabled the audience to understand theme of his pieces purely of its appearances.

I aim to tuned down the saturation and vibrancy in my shots to help me achieve a harsher tone which con be used to help convey the mood.
