BRIJMOHAN AGRAWAL
The state of Chhattisgarh is a home to tribes. These tribal populations
form the major population and contribute to its cultural growth of
the country.
Brijmohan Agrawal took the initiative in educating the people
living in remote areas.
As a responsible minister he took the responsibility for the
development of the whole state which can be possible only with the
means of education.
When Agrawal Ji held the position of education minister then under his guidance,
the Chhattisgarh Government made their best efforts for ensuring education to the children
of naxal-affected places.
Every child can get regular and extensive evaluation process for the
students of classes 1 to 8 under the Act of Right to Education.
He always emphasized that people must know their rights and
understand them so that they can progress in life.
The education department under the guidance of Brijmohan Agrawal
recommended that it must pay extra attention in Chhattisgarh’s far flung areas, which were affected by the
naxal-violence.
To sustain the proper teacher-student ratio and holding regular classes in schools, it is a difficult
issue in those areas.
Under the section 30 of RTE Act, it was mandatory for each and every
student to attend the school because then only he can complete his/her
primary education which mentioned.
Therefore the common system of 5th and 8th board
examination has been changed by usual and general assessment and monitoring
system.
Brijmohan Agrawal also recommended starting the adult
education also. It is also important so that these adults can help their
children in gaining education.
Saakshar Bharat, the new variant of National Literacy Mission was
launched on 8th September, 2009 with the prime focus on adult non-
literate women of rural areas.
All the 35 districts in the country which are most affected with left wing
extremism are eligible for coverage under this Mission irrespective of their
existing literacy rate.
