That’s not what we found when researching the growing use of Mac in small businesses, and even some of the top corporations. More Macs are joining the workforce. Macs are becoming a bigger part of the corporate culture. From employees bringing in personal Macs, to standard issue Mac laptops for hard working executives. to full scale Mac Operating System and software design implementations, the Mac is becoming more common in the workplace. Apple IOS is the most common mobile platform used to connect in corporate environments. 93% of Fortune 500 companies have deployed the iPhone. More businesses are deploying Apple products every year. It’s not just the quirky creatives that are bringing Macs to work, IT managers see the benefits of a more stable and secure operating system for their employees as well as for themselves. Mac use in office 22% of organizations expect Mac use to increase at their place of business within the next 12 months. Mac issued in office IT decision makers forecast a 52% increase in the number of Macs they will issue. Macs purchased for large companies 50% of all large companies with 1,000 employees or more are buying Macs, while over a fifth of all “information workers” are now using at least one Apple product to do their work. More businesses are deploying Apple products every year. It’s not just the quirky creatives that are bringing Macs to work, IT managers see the benefits of a more stable and secure operating system for their employees as well as for themselves. Mac sales among small businesses- 93.5% 10-99 employees Mac sales among medium businesses- 56.7% 100-499 employees Corporations- 46% of corporations now issue Macs. So who are these Mac users? Are they all artistic, right-brained hipsters? Not according to these numbers. People who used iPhone, iPad, or Mac for work earning over 150,000/year- 43% earning 100,000-149,999/year- 27% earning 50,000-99,999/year- 23% earning below 50,000/year 19% All types of businesses are implementing Macs from small start ups to large corporations. It just makes sense. Forrester suggests that the typical Mac user fits in the segment it calls “power laptop” users, who work an average of 45 hours a week and make 44% more money. “Most of the Macs today are being freewheeled into the office by executives, top sales reps, and other workaholics. Today, only 4 percent of small businesses are standardized on Macs. But that number is growing quickly as Mac platform becomes more business friendly and as more people are introduced to and embrace the Mac experience- often through their iPhone or iPad.
