BP is the number 1 gas marketer and trader in North America.* We are using our expertise to supply natural gas and power to the Freeport facility where we have 4.4 mtpa of tolling capacity.
First LNG is scheduled for 2019.
BP is the largest hydrocarbon producer in Trinidad & Tobago, accounting for more than half of the country’s production of oil and gas.
We are also one of the largest lifters of LNG from the country.
BP has an interest in the Browse project, which seeks to develop 16 tcf wet gas. The joint venture partners are evaluating the development of these fields using floating LNG technology.
We are a buyer of Nigerian LNG on both a spot and mid-term basis.
In 2015 the partners started equity lifting from the North West Shelf project for a portion of the overall production.

To provide competitively priced LNG to our customers, we actively manage our portfolio on a daily basis by optimizing across our supply and demand positions.
Our global LNG portfolio, combined with our positions in pipeline gas, oil, products, shipping, metals and foreign exchange markets enables us to identify optimization and trading opportunities to further develop our offer for customers.
In partnership with our Spanish gas marketing business, we offer combined gas and LNG structures to our customers in Spain. We are able to meet our customers’ needs with a combination of flexible pricing indexation, pipeline gas alternatives, in-year volume adjustments and other creative solutions. We are also an active participant in the re-loading of cargoes in order to rebalance regional disparities.

We value long-term customer relationships, and have numerous term contracts with customers across the globe such as utility companies, gas distributors and national oil and gas companies. We are able to supply these customers’ long-term and spot supply needs from our portfolio.

Our LNG Shipping team leads the industry in providing innovative marine solutions, ensuring that our operations are safe and efficient.
BP Shipping was established over 100 years ago. Our team has been operating a LNG fleet since 2002, and now manages a total of 49 oil and gas tankers.
BP Shipping manages all of the logistics required to move BP’s oil and gas cargoes to market, as well as technical marine assurance on all waterborne vessels within the BP group. Our team operates a rigorous ship-vetting and port/terminal inspection programme. We actively support and encourage developments by the shipping industry which improve safety and environmental performance.

We have been involved in the commissioning of numerous LNG facilities - such as re-gas terminals at the Isle of Grain, Bilbao, GATE, and AES Andres as well as liquefaction projects including Tangguh, Atlantic LNG and Angola LNG.

We supplied the first commercial LNG contract based on offshore ship-to-ship transfer.
BP’s LNG business is based on innovation. We are prepared to take on complex projects at scale; we have the experience and capability to help you be successful.
We have approved and delivered LNG to various configurations of Floating Storage and Re-gasification Units (FSRUs), and to off-shore LNG facilities such as the Rovigo gravity-based structure.
We have loaded partial cargoes from more than one load source, blending mixed compositions while continuing to meet import specifications.
With dedicated LNG legal teams in each of our global offices, our lawyers have deep industry experience. They can structure innovative contracts that help meet our customers’ specific requirements.
