    Tether Connector Strap

NOTE: Britax child seats are shipped with the tether connector strapattached to the Versa-Tether hook. When not in use with rear-facinginstallations that have designated tether anchors or forward-facinginstallations, store the tether connector strap in the tether pouch.

Because every vehicle model is different, sometimes you cannot find a location toproperly anchor the tether. Use the tetherconnector strap to assist in creating ananchor point (Fig. D).

Find a fixed vehicle anchor point that is1bolted to the floor.

If you cannot find an acceptable2location to create an anchor point, contact the vehicle manufacturer toidentify a suitable tether connectionpoint.

Loop the tether connector strap around3the metal anchor.

Take the metal D-ring and thread it4 through the webbing loop on the otherend of the strap.

Pull the metal D-ring all the way through5until the strap is tight around the metalanchor.

Use the D-ring as an attachment point6for hook on tether strap.

    Child Seat Functions

The energy-absorbing Versa-Tether was designed to enhancethe performance of the child seat tether. By introducing a stagedrelease of the tether webbing, the forward movement of the childseat is delayed while reducing the amount of energy transferred tothe child seat during a crash. A secondary benefit of the energy-absorbing Versa-Tether is to help indicate when the child seat hasbeen involved in a moderate or severe crash and replacement of thechild seat is necessary.

nergy-Absorbing Tether Switching the LATCH Connectors

The LATCH connectors will properly connect withthe LATCH anchors in the vehicle only when theconnectors are correctly aligned and the harnessis not twisted.

To ensure the LATCH connector is properly alignedwith the vehicles LATCH anchor, the connectors red release button should faceaway from vehicle seat back, and the larger of thetwo connector sections is on top (Fig. D).

Lift the front of cover to access the LATCH1 connector.

Slide both connectors through the rear-2facing belt slots to the center of the childseat so both connectors are on the frontside of the child seat (Fig. E).
