Job Description Job title Director, Communications and Marketing Team Policy, Communications & Marketing Band 4 Reporting to Managing Director, Policy, Communications & Marketing Management responsibility Yes Purpose of the job Working to the Managing Director, Policy and Communications, this is an exciting role in a rapidly evolving institution. It is responsible for all marketing, communications, brand management and media relations for British Business Bank. It includes all online and social media activity and internal and external communications, and will be responsible for the implantation and promotion of a major new digital hub in Spring 2018. The post holder will lead a team of nine colleagues and have oversight of an annual budget of c.£1 million Main duties The post holder will have overall responsibility creating, implementing and measuring the success of the marketing, communications and public relations programme through: Leading all communication, marketing and public relations planning and execution, monitoring progress and evaluating performance, including management of an external PR agency Managing an end-to-end marketing strategy and execution that raises the profile of the BBB, including to SMEs benefiting from our programmes, ensuring articulation of BBB’s image and position are consistent both internally and externally Devising and implementing a strategic, targeted media and PR plans to support the overall strategic aims of the business and that builds awareness of the BBB across a range of audiences, including SMEs, policy makers and the investment community across all UK regions Managing BBB’s reputation in the media and more widely, and co-ordinate media interest in the organization and ensure regular contact with target media channels Developing and implementing a comprehensive internal communications plan that engages colleagues across all BBB sites, and provides effective channels to share key messages across the business Developing further the provision of access to finance information to SMEs through our ‘Business Finance Guide’ and, in addition, leading the development and implementation of a major new digital hub (for Spring 2018) that provides a single source of finance information specifically for firms aiming to scale-up Effectively managing and providing leadership to a multi-disciplined team to ensure that high quality outputs are consistently delivered, and continue to foster a climate that attracts, retains and motivates top quality colleagues Managing an annual budget of c.£1million.
