Job Description Job title HR Managing Director Team HR Band 3 Reporting to CFO (with regular close working/dotted line with CEO) Management responsibility HR team of circa 6 colleagues Purpose of the job The HR Director at British Business Bank will have full responsibility for the Human Resources activity across the organisation, creating and driving the people strategy and managing the HR team, procedures and processes. Working closely with the CEO, CFO and Senior Management Team to ensure the people plan supports the delivery of the business plan. Applying key business drivers to the people strategy. Designing and managing remuneration including managing the Remuneration Committee requirements. Coaching the senior team and colleagues to ensure on-going performance improvements across the business. Ensure every aspect of Human Resources and the employer brand incorporates the vision, values and culture of the organisation. Lead and role model HR related change across a growing, scale-up organisation. Main duties Develop people strategies, annual people plan and policies Providing guidance and advice to the CEO and Board Manage and continually review the organisations remuneration strategy and policy Initiate and delivery of HR and OD change programmes Provide coaching and feedback to the senior team and colleagues across the organisation Design and implement effective L&D strategy across the organisation Lead a resourcing and retention strategy Ensure there is an effective talent strategy, focussing on succession planning for key roles Execute a successful performance management system Apply your knowledge to maximise the added value of the HR function Manage the HR operations and third party suppliers e.g. payroll Lead and develop the HR team Develop effective HR procedures to reflect the business aims Be an active participant of the Senior Management Team Knowledge and experience Extensive generalist HR experience at executive and managerial level Demonstrated experience of defining the HR strategy in a period of significant change e.g. start-up to scale up or mergers or acquisitions. Proven record of successfully managing change, delivering new processes and practices and organisational design within an HR business environment Sound knowledge of employment legislation Good reward and remuneration skills and experience ideally in Financial Services or a regulated sector Proven experience of leading and developing a customer focussed team Internal and external stakeholders BBB Senior Management Team BBB Board and Remuneration Committee (Non Exec Directors) All BBB colleagues External suppliers Government teams (BEIS and UKGI, the Shareholder) Management responsibility if appropriate Management of the HR team split across 3 sites (2 in London, 1 in Sheffield) Team of 6 including HRBP, HR Manager, Resourcing Manager and 3 HR Assistants Key competencies/behaviours
