Pete Smyth – Chief Executive

Pete commenced his career in Private Equity

working with Allen McGuire & Partners, a leading

Irish Investment Firm which focused on mid market

investments in Western Europe. Pete moved from

Allen McGuire to Lehman Brothers Europe where

he worked in their Investment Banking division until

he returned to Ireland in 2003.

A graduate of University College Dublin, Pete joined

one of Ireland largest Support Services Companies,

Noonan Services Group in 2003. Pete was

appointed Group Chief Executive in 2004 and

managed the Group through a period of significant

organic and acquisitive expansion.

In September 2008 Pete managed the successful

sale of the Group to a UK Private Equity company.

Pete holds a BA in Pure Economics from University

College Dublin and a Masters in International

Business from the UCD Graduate School of

Business.

Tom commenced his career in L’Oréal’s Global

Management Trainee programme in London where he

gained valuable retail, manufacturing & consumer goods

industry experience. Tom moved from L’Oréal to work as

a Business Development Manager for the SThree Group,

the FTSE listed specialist recruitment firm. Following the

Group’s IPO in 2005, Tom left to complete an MBA in

Oxford University (Säid Business School). Upon

graduating in December 2006, Tom joined Macquarie

Capital Partners (now M3 Capital Partners), an

investment banking/private equity firm which specialises

in corporate finance advisory, capital raising and

managing a $2bn global real estate private equity fund.

In January 2010 Tom returned to Dublin to join Broadlake

Capital to oversee the Corporate Development activities.

To date, Tom has worked on over €10bn of M&A, private

equity principal investment and capital raising deals

across Europe, the US and Asia.

Tom holds a BArch in Architecture from Trinity

College Dublin and an MBA from Oxford University

(Exeter College).

Donal Garrihy – Investment Director

Donal was one of the founders of Wild About Water in

2003. Having established Wild About Water as a

greenfield venture in 2003 he has grown the business

significantly through a combination of both bolt-on

acquisitions and strong organic growth in recent years.

Today Wild about Water in one of the leading POU

companies in Ireland and has established a growing

presence in the United Kingdom.

Donal was previously the Director of Sales and Marketing

EMEA for Oasis, which was the world’s largest

watercooler manufacturer. Donal spent nine years with

Oasis developing their market position across Europe, the

Middle East and Asia. Donal joined Broadlake Capital as

an Investment Director in 2009.

Donal works closely with portfolio companies assisting

them with the implementation of their business plans.

Donal holds a BComm from University College Dublin.

Kevin MacSweeny – Investment Executive

Kevin started out his career as Corporate

Development Executive with Noonan Services Group

in 2006. Reporting Directly into the Group CEO Pete

Smyth his role encompassed the sourcing, appraisal

and execution of acquisitions across Ireland and the

United Kingdom.

Following the sale of Noonan Services Group in

September 2008 Kevin was seconded to Wild About

Water to assist with the execution of a number of key

acquisitions. Having completed two of these bolt on

acquisitions in early 2009 Kevin joined Broadlake

Capital as an Investment Executive.

Kevin works closely with the Firm’s Chief Executive in

the areas of investment origination and appraisal. He

holds a BA in Economics and Psychology from

University College Cork and a Masters in

Management Consultancy from the UCD Graduate

School of Business.

Eamon Allen – Advisory Board Member

Eamon has over 30 years experience in the Private Equity and

Investment Banking Sectors. Eamon’s career commenced with

ICC Bank where he was responsible for corporate lending

between 1977 - 1983.

Eamon joined Bankers trust in 1983 and spent the next six

years in a variety of roles in its London and New York offices.

Eamon returned to Ireland in 1989 to establish Allen McGuire &

Partners, a Mid Market Private Equity Firm which made sixteen

investments worth a total of $500m over a fifteen year period.

The company invested in a combination of private and

public to private acquisitions in a variety of industry sectors

across Western Europe.

The Firm was focused on acquiring companies

with strong brands and market positions

followed by working closely with

management teams to implement operational

improvements and growth strategies.

Anthony Gahan - Advisory Board Member

Anthony has over 20 years experience in the Investment

Banking Sector. Anthony is one of the founding members

of Wyvern Partners, a boutique London based corporate

finance advisory firm. Anthony previously held senior

positions at Lehman Brothers and Flemings.

At Lehman Brothers Anthony was responsible for

coverage of the European Industrial Sector, while at

Flemings his role encompassed global coverage with

substantial exposure to Asia, Latin America and the

Middle East. Prior to joining Flemings, Anthony worked at

Charterhouse and NatWest.

He has advised on most types of public and private

transactions including leveraged transactions and

financings. Anthony is fluent in Spanish, French and

Portuguese.
