    Today After Each MassHot Dog Sale Fundraiser

    Today, February 11, after each Mass the Altar Servers will be hosting a Hot Dog Sale. There will be Polish sausage, chipsdonuts will be served in the Kolbe Center. The proceeds will be used to defray the cost of new cassocks for the servers.

    Lent summons us, and enables us, to come back to the Lord wholeheartedly and in every aspect of our life.

    The 2018 Lenten season begins on Ash Wednesday, February 14, for Latin-rite Catholics with Easter Sunday on April 1. During Lent, we are asked to devote ourselves to seeking the Lord in prayer and reading Scripture, to service by giving alms, and to sacrifice selfthrough fasting. Many know of the tradition of abstaining from meat on Fridays during Lent, but we are also called to practice self-discipline and fast inthroughout the season. Contemplate the meaning and origins of the Lenten fasting tradition in this reflection. In addition, the giving of alms is one way to share God's gifts—not only through the distribution of money, but through the sharing talents.
