Brunotti, since 1979

Long live the good old days! That’s what your grandma always used to say. And for sure we are proud about the Brunotti heritage. Without the Italian Claudio Brunotti, our brand would never have existed and we would not have been able to develop the best surfboards in the world.

Our gratitude and respect towards our heritage is the reason you will see a wide variety of ´good old´ details in the new Summer 2013 collection, each corresponding to our Italian roots and rich surf history. For Spring 2013, in any case, some things will be different and many things even better! Brunotti is getting a more mature look. Our surfboards gave us a lot of inspiration for the styles, handmade details and artworks.

This collection is inspired by our teamriders who are active in boardsports. During their college and university live they still like to express their boardsports lifestyle. In this spring collection you will see these elements in a perfect combination.

We are stoked about the new collection, and we think you will love it just as much.

All you need is surf, let’s kick-start the summer!

HIstory

1979 1985

1979 The 23 year old Italian Windsurfer Claudio Brunotti settles in Scheveningen (NED) after a holiday tour through Europe where he develops his passion for surfing. He experiments with materials in his workshop and designs his own windsurf boards. On his own Brunotti boards he wins several prestigious surfing competitions and world cup titles.

1985-1987 Claudio effortlessly turns from surfboards and beachwear to developing functional and technical snowboarding outfits. These are based on his personal experiences and those of other snowboard riders, and consequently meeting the needs of extreme riders.

1988 Claudio eventually passes on the ins and outs of board shaping to Jinne Sietsma, a real Scheveningen surfer. Claudio’s tips enabled him to refine shaping techniques and carry on the strong tradition of Brunotti Boards. Meanwhile, Claudio begins to long for home and he returns to Italy.

19851980-1985 Brunotti Boards gains popularity. Claudio starts selling his boards. Soon he has established a good reputation and his promotional T-shirts become collectors’ items. The contemporary clothes collection with a surfy look and Italian touch take the market by storm.

2005 The RDP collection is introduced in addition to increase the technical development of the Brunotti Sportswear collection. RDP is short for Rider Developed Product. The collection contains a full range of products with technical features for active surfers and boarders.

1997 Current shareholders purchase the brand. This team starts by doing their utmost to ensure the success of Brunotti. This enables them to start developing two complete sportswear collections a year for the European market.

It is made without making any compromises and one thing in mind: full freestyle performance. The Youri Pro Kiteboard features pop tips, quad channels, triple concave, a smooth cut sidewall and a trick base. Providing you everything you need to ride like a pro.
