“All children have the right to the same educational opportunities.”
Colegio Intercultural
The Beginnings
In 1998, Petit and Franz came to the Urubamba valley hoping to do work that
would benefit the children of the area. They never imagined they would have
an intercultural school with over 160 students.
They started by supporting various local schools: improving
infrastructure, providing materials and supplies, and
running cultural and sporting activities.
They continue to show their commitment by working with local children and families, as
well as the community at large.
A school for everyone
Growing Together
The Sol y Luna Association was born of these values of inclusion and equality. Petit and Franz created the Sol & Luna Lodge in order to make their educational project sustainable while at the same time giving work to local families.
Colegio Intercultural
The School
After 10 years of supporting various schools and projects, Petit and Franz decided to create the Sol y Luna School in order to encourage social integration and offer local children a level of education that lets them be agents in their own development.
Our Team
We have 37 professional staff members, between teachers, psychologists, therapists and cooks, who commit themselves every day to the development and needs of each child.
