Our exercise programs are based on the triangle of physical health: flexibility, cardiovascular conditioning and strength training. With three levels of exercise classes, you can strengthen your body and improve your overall health at a pace and in a style that work comfortably for you. After you exercise, indulge yourself with a soothing massage, pedicure or foot reflexology treatment in the calm of our massage room or in your own residence.

From the time you wake up each morning, opportunities beckon. Begin your day with a breakfast buffet in the Piñons Dining Room, or prepare your own breakfast in your well-equipped kitchen. Then linger over coffee as you gaze at beautiful views.After breakfast, choose one of our exercise classes or a work-out in our fitness room to keep in shape. Or why not try yoga or tai chi? We’ll provide you with a myriad of choices designed to support a healthy lifestyle.

Looking to expand your horizons? Attend our on-site lecture series, chamber music concerts, dance and musical performances, poetry writing workshops, art classes and intriguing discussion forums. Or, if you prefer, audit a class or attend performances and sports events at CU. Or the beauty of a Colorado day may inspire you to walk on mountain trails just outside your door.

Our unique location in the heart of Boulder offers you a multitude of opportunities. Chautauqua and the University of Colorado are just a few blocks away, allowing you to choose from a variety of cultural, educational and sports venues. We offer you a choice of a lovingly-restored apartment in the historic Academy building, an elegant, modern apartment in the Flatirons building, or a private bungalow on our meticulously maintained grounds.

At The Academy we offer a variety of services that are designed to meet your needs as those needs may change from time to time. If, over time, you require assistance beyond what is available to independent residents of The Academy, you may choose our assisted living program or you may choose to bring private home care services into your residence. Whichever option you choose, we will work with you to make sure your needs are met at every stage of your life.

We are committed to helping you remain in your residence with the services you need. This commitment has worked remarkably well in our community. Since The Academy opened in 1998, very few Academy residents have moved to skilled nursing on a permanent basis. But if you ever require nursing services that cannot be provided in your residence we will assist you in selecting one of several excellent skilled nursing facilities nearby.
