Marine TrainingPortfolio 2020
RINA provides a wide range of services across the Energy, Marine, Certification, Transport & Infrastructure and Industry sectors through a global network of 170 offices in 65 countries.
RINA is a member of key international organisations and an important contributor to the development of new legislative standards.
RINA consists of the parent company RINA S.p.A., the holding which controls the main sub-holdings RINA Services S.p.A. and RINA Consulting S.p.A. In order to ensure compliance with the applicable recognition, authorization, notification and accreditation rules, including those relevant to the management of impartiality, RINA has adopted a governance and organizational model. According to this model, the sub-holdings are subject to direction and co-ordination by the holding in the finance, administration, strategic, organizational, managerial and business continuity fields, while technical and operational decisions remain under the exclusive responsibility of the sub-holdings and their controlled companies.
The strict separation of duties in the governing bodies and the impartiality risk assessment, which identifies and manages the impartiality and confl ict of interest threats coming from the company relations, ensure compliance with the applicable impartiality rules.
HOW WE ARE WORKING
To achieve our objective, we are working close to the international shipping community, in order to understand their learning needs and develop training material to treat these needs. Our experts work to transfer the knowledge from RINA’s long-standing consolidated tradition in the fields of ship classification and certification.
Having our senior delegates following the international fora that set the international maritime regime, enable us to continuously update our training material and to appropriately inform our clients on all regulatory developments. We are establishing training synergies with academic institutions and high-technology companies, to develop and deliver premium training topics to our clients.
Connecting training with innovation is an important task for RINA; we are keeping a close eye to innovation and working to incorporate in the training process the results from the worldwide RINA research activities.
TRAINING WE HAVE AVAILABLE
Courses are available in classroom environment (RINA hosted, or in-house), and in e-learning and webinar environment as well. New methods and tools are employed, that can radically improve the practicality and efficacy of marine training, while at the same time ask for less resources, from shipping companies. The above are reflected in the new training portfolio we present herewith.
Standard advanced and premium level courses are offered in nine categories.
Ship Operation Ship Technology Safety Environmental Challenges Security Ship Management Rules and Regulations Yachts Soft Skills
Competent personnel are a necessity, due to the multiple (onboard and ashore) tasks, and the high levels of technical, safety and security, and environmental standards that are anticipated from international shipping. Moreover, new technology and new regulation form important drivers of emerging training needs. In the Global Marine Training Centre of RINA, our main objective is to have available marine training material in response to the emerging training/learning needs of international shipping.
