Course Objectives

Day 1: 25 May, 2013 Session 1 8:30am – 10:00am

Email Marketing Overview

Provide a general view of worldwide email marketing, in-cluding key statistics and trend both worldwide and nation-wide.

CAN-Spam Acts and Unethical Is-sues

Provide key knowledge of spam and unethical issues regard-ing email marketing.

Session 2 10:30am – 12:00pm

Building Email Lists

Provide key skills in building email lists from CRM data, business networking events, social network sites (LinkedIn & Facebook), directory pages and other websites using tar-geting email spider program. Also provide practical knowledge of importing from /exporting into Ms. Outlook, Gmail & Yahoo CSV files.

Session 3 1:30pm – 3:00pm

Understanding of Core Concepts of Email Marketing Campaigns

Provide key understanding of email campaigns (rich text, plain text and HTML formats), including different types of email marketing campaigns (follow-up, promotion, sales lead generation, event & invitation, new product launch, newsletter, auto-response, scheduling, etc.)

Spam Avoiding & Minimizing

Provide guidelines to successful launches of email cam-paigns by providing keys to wording, design, word choices, spam-like words, types of spam-like campaigns, email serv-er requirements and sending policies and limits.

Session 4 3:30pm – 5:00pm

Creating Plain & Rich Text Email Campaigns

Provide key skills in creating plain and rich text email cam-paigns, using online-based email platforms, Ms. Outlook, Word & Publisher.

Day 2: 26 May, 2013 Session 5 8:30am – 10:00am

Creating Basic HTML Email Cam-paigns (Web-based platform)

Provide practical skills in creating basic HTML email mar-keting campaigns using online-based email platforms (Gmail, others).

Session 6 10:30am – 12:00pm

Creating Basic HTML Email Cam-paigns (Microsoft Office Packages)

Provide practical skills in creating HTML email marketing campaigns using Microsoft Outlook, Word & Publisher.

Session 7 1:30pm – 3:00pm

Mass Mailing

Provide key skills in sending email campaigns to a large number of recipients by using PHPList software, dedicated email servers, and E-Mail Merge integrated with Ms. Out-look and Word/Publisher.

Session 8 3:30pm – 5:00pm

Exercises & Practices

Provide trainees an opportunity to practice creating an email marketing campaign (campaign type and topic assigned by the trainer) and sending as a test, using E-mail Merge inte-grated with Ms. Outlook and Publisher.

In order to fully benefit from the course,

Participants are required to bring their laptops (with high speed de-

sired, also 3G Modems and flash drives, if possible) to the training

(laptops have to have Ms. Office Packages installed, Outlook, Word, and

Publisher required).

Participants are required to have an email account configured on Mi-

crosoft Outlook (2007,2010) on their laptops.

Participants should have Yahoo, Gmail, Facebook and LinkedIn Ac-

counts (create ones if you have not yet had).
