The new Astra Sports Tourer has the style to go with the storage. Its powerful body

sculpting lays down a marker in this category, and behind that distinctive tailgate there’s

a boot that stretches to 1,550 litres. Wherever you look inside and whatever you want

to do, the Sports Tourer has an innovation or option to help you do it, including Opel’s

trademark push-button electric FlexFold rear seat mechanism. The Sports Tourer is a

cinch to load and organise but, above all, it’s a pleasure to drive.

In the compact class, the interior of the new Astra is a class apart. Whichever body style

you choose, your everyday ride comes comfort-wrapped. Driver and passengers are

cocooned in a roomy, beautifully laid-out cabin designed with just one priority: you.

Enhanced materials and the ergonomic dash layout add to the sense of well-being.

Especially if you do a lot of driving, the Astra offers optional extras that you don’t often

find in this category. You can choose ergonomically designed sports seats with AGR

certification, or Bi-Xenon headlamps with award-winning AFL+ technology and

signature LED daytime running lamps. A standard voice-controlled Bluetooth mobile

phone system keeps you connected.

metres – without dazzling other drivers.

Static Cornering Light (up to 40 km/h,

also works in reverse). Throws light 90°

to the left or right, so you can better see

HEADLIGHTS WITH FORESIGHT.Intelligent driver aids are the hallmark of the new Astra. It’s the first car in its class to offer intelligent Bi-Xenon Adaptive Forward Lighting Plus (AFL+¹) headlights, the third generation of the award-winning2 AFL+ system from Opel. AFL+ makes driving at night just as comfortable as during the day. It uses a front mounted camera, a rain sensor and the steering to improve visibility and safety, automatically adjusting the direction and strength of your headlights to suit different speeds, manoeuvres, weather conditions and traffic situations.

Daytime Running Lights. LED daytime running lights make driving safer by

catching the attention of other road users.1Available on Astra Select as part of the Prestige Pack and optional on Astra Sport only. 2 The Allianz Genius 2010 safety prize, awarded by German insurer Allianz for technology that makes driving safer by reducing the frequency and severity of road accidents.

Pedestrian Area Light (up to 30 km/h).

Highlights potential hazards with a wider

spread of light (an extra 8° left and right).

Adverse Weather Light (up to 70 km/h).

Activated by wipers or a rain sensor, this

setting improves vision in wet weather.

High Beam with Assist (over 40 km/h).

AFL+ automatically switches from high to

low beam when it detects traffic ahead –

and back to high when the road is clear.

Dynamic Curve Light (any speed).

The headlights turn into the curve by

up to 15°. Activated by steering angle

and speed.

Town Light (30–55 km/h). .Spreads

the light wider and lower. Activated

by vehicle speed and street lighting.

Country Road Light (55–115 km/h).

Wider and brighter than normal,

for a 70-metre dazzle-free beam.

Navi900. An available fully integrated satellite navigation system with 3D

mapping and voice guidance, displayed on a high resolution 7” colour screen.

Also features premium speakers, USB iPod connectivity and a shark-fin aerial.1

WE’VE GOT YOUR BACK.The designers and engineers behind the new Opel Astra line-up put a lot of thought into even the smallest details, and it’s those details that make all the difference to your well-being.

Ergonomically designed (AGR) sports seats. These front seats were crafted by

Opel and found by independent experts at Germany’s prestigious AGR organization

to be perfect for your back. They let you separately fine-tune the lumbar cushion in

four directions to give your upper body extra support.4

Front and Rear Park Assist. Available front and rear park assist makes parking

in any situation stress free.2

Hill Start Assist. Automatically holding your vehicle on an incline until you take

off, available automatic Hill Start Assist makes hilly getaways easy.3

1. FlexRide technology. With just a touch of the FlexRide button,

you can change the whole driving dynamics of your Astra – from

‘Sport’ to ‘Tour’ and back again. Using Continuous Damping Control

(CDC) technology, FlexRide automatically adjusts the dampers to

give you excellent road holding.

In ‘Tour’ mode, it chooses the best settings for gentler, straight-line

driving. Switch to ‘Sport’ mode and it instantly sharpens the response

of the steering, accelerator and automatic transmission (if fitted).

It also changes the colour of the ambient instrument lighting – from

a cool white to dynamic red.*

2. Superior suspension. For maximum grip and a comfortable

ride on curvy roads, your Astra comes standard with a Watt’s

linkage rear suspension system. Watt’s linkage stabilises the rear

axle by reducing unwanted lateral movement.

SAFEGUARD YOUR INTERESTS.Astra is a showcase for Opel’s high-tech safety features, with active and passive technology delivering invaluable peace-of-mind.

Astra combines advanced electronic options with proven safety

features like front, side and curtain airbags and reinforced

passenger safety cell with pre-defined deformation zones.

Standard kit includes active-safety front seat head restraints

and a Hill Start Assist feature on some models; this helps

prevent you inadvertently rolling back on a slope by keeping

the brakes applied until just the right moment. Dual front seatbelt

pre-tensioners and Opel’s highly effective pedal release system

appear on all versions.

A MODE FOR EVERY MOOD.The ride in every Astra is smooth and stable, and the handling is responsive. If you like to push your car hard through corners, Watt’s linkage rear suspension is a given. tailored fit, it provides maximum protection yet is easily

removed for cleaning.

2. Load-restraining floor net. Safeguard your load area and

its contents: our elastic restraining net attaches to built-in

lashing eyes and is designed to stop large items sliding around

in the luggage area.

3. Thule surfboard carrier. Used in conjunction with the Opel

base carrier, these quality systems, manufactured by Thule, open

up a range of attachments from roof boxes to surfboard carriers

to be transported on the roof without damaging your vehicle.
