The Xalapa Symphony Orchestra has hosted many prestigious conductors and soloists, and has premiered many new pieces which, along with the stan-dard works, constitute a strong reper-tory that has set the standard for other Mexican orchestras. Among the long list of conductors that have performed with the OSX, some of the most prominent are: Hermann Scherchen, Fritz Reiner, Neeme Jarvi, Julián Carrillo, Eduardo Mata, Jorge Mester, Hans Zanotelli, José Iturbe, Bruno Campanella, Jorma Panula, Zuohuang Chen and Krzysztof Penderecky.

Larry Kirkegaard has consulted on a significant number of the world’s performing arts facilities designed or renovated over the past forty years. He has been a pioneer-ing figure in the field of architectural acous-tics, helping to redefine the relationship between music and architecture - achievements recognized by the Acoustical Society of America, American Institute of Architects, United States Institute for Theatre Technology, and conductors and musicians around the world.
One of Brazil`s most internationally renowned artistsSince January of 2012, Lanfranco Marcelletti has been the Music Director of the Xalapa Symphony Orchestra, with whom he has pledged to devote the passion for music and professionalism that has characterized his career. In addition, he has established a rapport with the audience that regularly attends the Xalapa Symphony’s concerts, relating entertaining historical anecdotes of the performed works in his charismatic and effusive style.
